New addition(soon)

ok well my dad has a 1994 BMW 540i dinan but it has 132,000 miles on it so its time to sell it before we have to put money into keeping it running. So my dad decided he has to buy a new car. He looked at the Mercedes C32 AMG real nice but not what i had in mind i've always loved BMW's. sooooooo i tried to talk him into buying an M5 he was all for that but he wanted one with the brushed aluminum interior and he really wanted the "angel eyes" we looked around for a 2001 M5 with brushed aluminum but no luck only wood. Now im sweating here because he put $1,000 on this C32 and im running out of time to find him an M5 i go on Autotrader.com and find some M5's in the area all titanium silver with wood. Now im really running out of time so i tell my dad to call up the BMW dealership by his old work and they HAD A 2000 CARBON BLACK M5 WITH BRUSHED ALUMINUM THERE but we ran into another problem. it was a 2000 so i believe it doesn't have the angel eyes so were going down today to look at it and when we get it we are going to swap in the angel eyes.

Also what upgrades should we do to it what does it lack?? i was thinking that it should be Brembo brakes, saftey harnesses, and exhaust what a good one thats not to loud but when you give it gas or are in the higher rpm's it's loud

Hi !

Short shift is very good for the "feel" and cheap as well.
If you do a search for the exshaut sound there are a lot of thread on the topic, one of them with sample of sounds from the different makes

Good luck to you and your dad

Cheers

Helllo and welcome to the board!

There has been so many modifications done by members of this board, I think that the only thing hasn't been done is mounting rockets to the back of these cars.

I would do a search on the forums, especially the E39 M5. members such as Black M5 has tons of mods in their cars (or a few but very crazy ones, such as a super charger ... AHEM.)

Definitely get the angel eyes in there. The rest is up to you and your dad's personal taste!

Best,
Kevin.

Swaping out interior trims are not hard to do. I have done it in the past and few board members. Also for the Angel eyes. I know few members have done this upgrade.

If I were you, I would upgrade angel eyes instead of trims. I would order the euro clear angel eye.

Big difference between 2000 and 2001 are angle eye and nav screen.

There are few minor differences between 2000, 2001 and 2002. Search this board for those.

Also if I remember correctly the early 2000 models had the vanos problem, so if you go for a 2000 model check if the vanos has been changed already or make sure that the car is under warranty. Same there if you do a search under Vanos you will have all the info you need.

Dave,

How's it going? Long time no talk. Thanks and Yes, those pictures were taken after Dinan Suspension upgrade. Can you believe Apples' is lower (about an inch) than mine! (with 19inch BBS LM)
