Just finished reading your excellent write up and those are some amazing photo's you have taken ! I noticed you'd done the write up a few days ago but haven't had a chance to spend the time reading it and looking through the photo's until now (been spending too much time on the GTI forums).
I bet your planning the next trip already even though it could be a long way off !!!!!!
Totally brilliant mate, wish i had done something like that when i was young and single. Didn't realise you were such a charmer with the ladies, you lucky boy
Hope to catch up with you soon Lee ( finished building the engine and its all timed up,goes like sh*t off a shovel now, just need to take it to a rolling road to check the BHP ) if your ever down this way drop by and you can have a drive of it to see what you think it goes like.
Cheers
Simon.
I didn't realise I was such a charmer either! Apparently it's the accent... it for sure isn't looks ha ha!
Cheers mate as I say I would do it tomorrow if I had the money! Something we were talking about half seriously was me doing guided tours over to Raikku's... Could be fun, just not a lot of people who are willing to dump a large amount of dollar on a jolly jaunt in their car at the mo
Well done on getting the golf done matey! Does that get lady boss off of your back a bit now...?
I'm still working in Surrey/Kent everyday so I'm not THAT far from you but you are out in 't sticks mate! Maybe we can have a mini meet or something with a couple of others?

I have no carbon footprint, I have a carbon swimming pool!
Next day I made my way to Rotterdam to meet a guy named Tiago! He and his gorgeous lady boss prepared me some cold beer and a steak lunch. It was beautiful, thanks guys!! I then caught Mr T polishing his car would you believe!
I also got to drive the exquisite E39 touring he has, that thing is absolutely stunning, especially the interior. Such a good combination of colour. It is sooooo smooth to drive also. When I got in the driver’s seat I looked under to find the key and switch it on, it was already running! The thing is a testament to looking after your car properly.
Lee,
It was a great pleasure to have you come and visit us! We are happy that you have enjoyed the dutch beer and the entrecôte steak You are welcome again on your next European Tour!
You turning on the Touring when it was already running is a funny mistake, that I have to admit to have done a couple of times myself already! For more that I love my M5, the Touring really occupies a special place for me, what a smooth E39 that one is.
Thanks for the chat, the time spent with us and of course, the great help you provided in removing the MK4 Nav from the mounting chassis, wasn't that fun!

Take care buddy!
I was planning on doing a massive trip in mine, down to Monaco, over to Italy and back through Switzerland and Germany. Was a great idea but I was looking at £800 for fuel and even with others coming alot, I still figured it was too much. In the new car I'd almost make it on £200.

Lol I was originally going to do almost the opposite trip. But yeah it's a lot of dough just to throw away. Go in the Supeeeerb...

I just did a trip down through the black forest (enjoyable) and Switzerland -- the part I didn't enjoy was all the construction on the A5 in Germany - - but, the part I really really really enjoyed was the A62/A1/A60 on the way back, with lovely Aral 102 in the tank , and uncrowded open road...
...then a modified E92 M3 wanted to tangle - wife/kids/luggage and all in the car - - only pulled on him for a short distance after a bridge construction in third gear then let him go...
...then later the wife slapped me - 'slow down' - OK OK, the I'll drive slower, but I didn't think 240kph was that fast...
