I've already been spotted sneaking in there on my way to work to hose the dust off before anyone sees the new M5!

Oh, and I've ordered personalised number/license plates which should be arriving any day now. That should be a good excuse for another photo session ;-)

M5 juxtaposed against the iconic country Aussie beast - the V8 bush ute :-) (I also have a somewhat older version of one of these stashed in a shed somewhere ...)

Near to home ...

... and near to work.

And very close to work ... it's not a bad daily commute that I have to do.

Well, that's me for now. No doubt I'll be back with interminable questions as I learn the ways of the beast.

Cheers,
Adam.

.

Now THAT is some proper photo backdropping!! Just lovely. The car too.

Congrats and welcome.

Welcome to M5 ownership Adam, I know you've been looking for a while. I've just moved from Sydney to Melbourne so there's less chance we'll meet. Ben and Stu are great guys with loads of experience, so ask them questions too. They've both been really helpful to me.

Yes welcome from Brisbane too. I saw about 3 of those blue ones in various parts of Aus when I was looking, nearly bought one, but ended up with my Ti ag example.

You are going to love that car, thats for sure.

D'oh! (I blame it on the fact that I'm barely recovered from a mystery virus that knocked me out for a few days)

I just re-ran the test. Max figure was 139.5 L/hr corrected. Much healthier

The raw figure was 123 L/hr doing 3rd gear pulls. 1st & 2nd gear only saw about 85 & 100. Wasn't game to do 4th!

And thanks to wilsodh, M B34ST and manualshifter for your welcomes.

that's low in 2nd? I know the numbers blur but just before the rev limiter you can get some idea and 2nd only pulls 100kmh+ so licence friendly...
4th? try 200+, even 3rd is 160kmh or so at 7,000rpm?

Thanks RICKROSS, it's great to be here! Cold, I grant you, but great. Being back in Melbourne makes my wife happy, and you know what they say;

"Happy wife, happy life!"
