Utter nonsense.

I’ve managed 27.9 MPG from Flagstaff to Albuquerque. Yes the cruise control was engaged at 80MpH.

As to the dumbest comment I’ve gotten happened last week…

"Hey is that the new E46 335?"....

On the gas station a man came up to me and starting to ask questions about my M5:

Him: how many horsepower is it ?
Me: 400
Him: If I had a car like like that I would drive so fast I will kill myselves.
Me: That`s too bad (thinking: you`re probably gona kill youreselves anyway if you can`t drive a M5 without doing it....)
Him: Drive safe (he waited for me to drive away for some reason)
Me: Full throttle on to the highway, feeling good driving a extreme deathmachine :-)

I had the pinnacle of dumb conversations the other day regarding my M5. He was a really nice guy but didn't know much about cars

Me: Pull in to gas station
Him: Does that have the K&N's?
Me: What?
Him: K&N intakes! That thing is loud!
Me: Hey man no just an exhaust / tune (muffler delete)
Him: Damn what is that thing? An AMG Mercedes?
Me: Lol no its a BMW...
Him: Damn well I have a Hemi (he was driving a Chrysler 300C)
Me: Oh nice. Those are great engines.
Him: Yeah it makes 320hp. What does that make?
Me: A little over 400...
Him: DAMN! Didn't know bmw's were fast.

I changed the subject back to his car after that

"Is that a 540?"

No, it's an M5

"Sounds great, what exhaust is that?"

It doesn't have mufflers

"What are those?"

A Co-worker after I had the roof painted Gloss Black: "Did you have a bigger sunroof put in?"
Me: "No, but that would be cool.....I guess."

Then I have a clear bra that's pretty weathered that I can't wait to get off the car; my friend works at Line-X.....
"Hey man, when you take that clear bra off you should let me hit the front with Line-x, you know, to match your roof."
Me:

My Fiance: "I like your old one better." (Talking about my 528i Sport)
Me: (Mental Face Palm)

I've only gotten a few...only had mine for 6 weeks. My mother in law said, "It looks sporty, is it fast?" I just replied, "Sure is, I can pass everything but a gas station."

The plant manager where I work said, "Who's driving the new black Mercedes?" Bear in mind, it was on the other side of the lot...I just said, it's a BMW, Mercs are for posers..." LOL.

Funny thing, I've never thought of it like, "I drive a BMW, look at me...more like, I drive an M5, and if you knew what I knew...well, you'd be thinking what I'm thinking."

I guess I get these recurring comments a lot at work. I get a lot of comments about the BMW from technicians at work. It takes a lot to get under my skin, but these comments kind of frustrate me:

"Oooh look at the bimmer. Guess we know who makes the money here"

Walking in front of my car as I leave the parking lot...
"Hey watch out Brian. Don't run me over in your BMW. I couldn't afford that"

And, driving into work the other day some older crazy looking gentleman walking his lap dog turned to me, clicked his heels together, touched his hand and fingers to his heart and then straight to the sky.

I was like WTF! I just got the heil hitler....then I looked at the badge on my steering wheel. "Oh....yeah guess that makes sense..."

These comments get me more than anything. Those and the comments implying I have a driver. It's a BMW, they make cars that are meant to be driven, not chauffeured around in.
