LED License Plate Bulbs - Before & After Pics

I know several of you already have this mod done, so I decided it was time to join the club...IMHO a good 10 minute mod as I had to take my license plate off too for clearance.

Got these from BMWLED.net. They are a company from El Cajon, CA. $27.99 shipped to Colorado (3 business days). No error lights on the OBC so far. We will see in a year or so if it was good money spent. I kept my originals (of course). 24 LEDs per side. They are bright, but not overkill. You guys decide.

Great mod...updates the look dramatically. Pretty much the first item I change on any car I buy (aside from the classics for obvious reasons).

I had issues removing the housing and ended up breaking mine.. I got very impatient and just cracked the damn thing. Ended up ordering the WeissLicht Xenon White Led housing and its nice.

Also to clarify - it was a complete replacement of the entire black housing as the LEDs are sealed within the housing.

A broken housing is something that came already fitted to mine for free when I got the car

Someone clearly hasn't known how to remove the housing to change the bulb and bent the metal too. Need to get the various bootlid issues sorted (big rust spots around the number plate screw mount holes) and I'll be up for some of these.

Good to see pics of various ones

I never really understood having a brighter license plate light...I mean why would you want the cops to notice your car more?

If you're driving (sanely) just like anybody else, you're probably not worried about the cops is my rationale.

I like it, my only concern was the errors that 'could' pop up. Keep us posted if something happens in the short term.

Bright LED lights, or not, or hell no lights at all. . . if they want to see your plate they can and will.
