Post Los Angeles Auto Show

Attended the opening of the LA Auto Show last night.

It was fun to watch people stare at the M5. Walking around the car while gently shakeing their heads and wearing that stupid grin. They want this car. They want to know what it is like to drive it. Thinking to myself "you only know half the fun".

The new 3 series convertible looks awesome in Steel Grey and Red leather interior. We will be ordering an M3 convertible next week. It will probably be that color combo. However, next to the M3 was a 330 in dark Fern Green with Camel interior and the wife might stay with that scheme. She currently drives her M3 convertible in that color combo.

We were told that a M3 convertible will be at the show on Monday. Might have to make my way back just to see it.

Not a big fan of the 7 series or the Z8 but they looked good. For that price tag of the Z8 I'd get a 996TT. That's a sexier car IMO.

Nice display at Audi. The convertible roadster with a red leather in a dark steel metalic paint is eye-catching. The leather seats had baseball stitching. Love that look. 225hp from the TT in such and small car, it has to scream.

Not impressed with the Merc display, no E55 or AMG's. In fact there were more racey Merc's in the parking garage than in their display. We also saw three other M5's in the garage, anyone from this board?

I must say that VW makes a beautiful car for the money. Great colors and the 1.8L, 150hp turbo, zippy.

If your in the LA-LA area go check it out. It's a couple of hours of good, clean fun.

P.S. Carmen, did you make it?

Thanks for the review. Makes you wonder what Mercedes is thinking about. I would think L.A. is one of the prime markets for AMG.

Thanks again for the review.

Hey Steve,

How about some pics. We've all gone digital now.

Thanks.

p.s. one of the many benefits of being a member of BMWCCA is the ability to attend the show before it's open to the public. Look for my posts when the show hits NYC.

Here's some pictures from the LA Auto Show.
Left:M5, which is impossible to get a good shot too many people around it, more than the M3. Right:M3, Ugly color and it did not look as agressive as I thought, there's even a guy standing behind it and told his buddy
"this it the M5,this the one.." The guy must be stupid can't tell the M3 badge from the M5. I couldn't resist and said "It's the M3 not M5..%$#&^!!" Center left: Harmann M5, Right: Hartge E46 3-series with M5 engine.
Below left:FabDesign CL500. Right:AMG CL55

Max, is that another pic of Helga? If so, my hats off to you - you are a great photographer! I loved the picture of Helga before the snowstorm too! Excellent shots.
