Diagnose my beasts spark plugs! With fault codes

Kind of weird. Basically the front four cylinders are running very lean. I started with 8 plugs and 1 MAF meter.

Car was throwing...

Bank B (passenger side) MAF meter
Misfire under 1500 RPMs
Multiple misfire without cutoff
Multiple misfire with cutoff
Misfires 1,2,3,4,5,7 with and without cutoff

Also found a torn ignition coil ground that I fixed as well. Let me know what you guys think.

I suspected bad coil packs here are packs 4,3,2,1 shown below.

Can you post the numbers of the codes you had? I can't lookup descriptions. Front being lean and back being rich makes me think low fuel pressure, but I would expect different codes, so have you had other codes other than you mention? Have you any history on the fuel supply system? IE pump filter and pressure reg.

Try unplugging the MAFs and driving it. Should run way better, if it does not put a fuel gauge on at the fuel filter and see what the readings are. Likely two new mafs are in your future. Still don't see a reason for 4 being so rich maybe a bad or dirty flow pattern.

I tried that earlier today after I put 8 new plugs in it. But no it didn't clean up at all. My new MAF won't be here until Tuesday. I was thinking a fuel issue as well.

Any other ideas?

I think you only unplugged the Bank 1 MAF. There is no code 39 for Bank 2 MAF power interrupt as it were.

Did you car suddenly start playing up, and you checked codes and you received all these misfire codes ?

What recent works have been carried out to the car in the last few months ?

No, there was nothing unplugged when we pulled the codes the other day. Today I unplugged both MAFs to see if it would clean up.

It wasn't all of a sudden, happened over 1500 miles and 6 months

But GT1 is telling you that bank 2 was NOT unplugged.

Please swap MAFS bank to bank and re read codes.

Those plugs indicate the front two cylinders on both banks are OK (grey/white ground electrodes and clean white insulator) and the back two are sooty with burnt oil, especially #4. Any oil in the plug wells? Or in the plenum?

I don't have a GT1 at my house. So I won't be able to do that until next week. I do have a scanner for my iphone.

It did pull a Lexus VVT performance sensor code (Bank 2) which I believe is a Crank Position Sensor. It is a generic code reader so codes are interchangeable on it. A CPS can cause multiple misfires and rough idles.

Spark Plugs
Mass Air Flow Meter
and.... should I consider doing the Crank Position Sensor?
