Cheap BMW E39 winter wheels

Hi all, earlier in the year I got some cheap 16" E39 wheels and some winter tyres to put on my M5 to try and look after the original wheels. Today I tried putting them on and it urns out they don't fit over the larger M5 front brake caliper. Does anyone know which size of the other E39 wheels would fit on the front of the M5 - I'd rather go with OEM BMW wheels of some size. Rears are OK.

Thanks

Bob

Bob, search will yield all the info you need on this as it's been well covered. There are 17" wheels, e.g., style 66 that will fit...for better snow performance, suggest running 4 fronts as they are more narrow.

IIRC, the Style 66 are the only 17" genuine BMW wheels that will fit. They're not a unique fitment to the M5, so they do turn up s/h from time to time. The BMW part no for the 17x8" (F&R) is 36112228995.
Somewhere there's a recent pic of a set on a car that has the Stoptech BBK, which has answered a question that was in my mind!

Thanks for the info - on eBay now. FYI I did search - I always do but there's an awful lot of postings about wheel but not to answer this. Could just be that my search terms were bad... cheers!

Second that. Just got a set off OEM Style 66s off Kijiji (ebay classified in Canada) for $350 w/o tires , I've see a couple sets for sale in the area, usually around 1 OE set every couple of weeks.

Lots of 17" replicas, but be careful of fitment. Several of the replicas didn't fit when I tried, so best test fit a wheel on the front. Back rotor/caliper combo is smaller and not the problem. Most people selling BMW wheels don't realize the e39 is different (hub bore and offset)

Great info. Am considering having to do this for my beast as well; beater car that I typically use for snow died this week.
