did you REALLY just question my taillight manliness?

I don't think I get the whoop with the side LED? got a pic that would convince me otherwise?

You know what's better than a Triumvirate of awesome!? A Quadrumvirate of it!!! How do you get there one may ask.

Why, the answer is simple: a set of fog-modified US CELIS lights would fit right in the bottom right quadrant of this pictoral representation; thus, completing it for a truly balanced definition of awesome.

also,

unless you do fog-modified US CELIS.

IF those two pictures (which you requested) don't change your mind, you're a lost soul.

If I can offer an opinion . . .

. . . first, you didn't have an amber option, therefore you are lucky I am even taking the time to peruse and comment in this thread.

Secondly, I have had both the US and Euro taillights on my car so I think I can say that I speak from experience. On my last M5 I had the US taillights without the rear fogs; no big deal, I didn't have the wiring for it. On this M5, I have the Euro taillights with the rear fog lights.

I miss the side lights; so much so that I am thinking of putting the US taillights back on next spring. In any event, I am going to modify one or the other to accept what the other doesn't have (does that make sense?).

If you are going through all of the time and trouble to install the wiring for rear fogs the least you can do is spend a little extra time and modify the US taillights. You can do it!!!

My opinion, go for both features and perform the modification but first get rid of those bland and blase clear assemblies and go for something a little more striking: amber.

-Josiah

EDIT: there is also the safety factor calling for the side lights. Of course, they are not for me, the driver, but I am thinking if some wayward driver merged into you and their unscrupulous (although, perhaps correct) lawyer caught wind that your vehicle did not have federally mandated lighting then things may not go very well for you. Is this a valid reason? Only you can say but I also happen to like how they look so I think the legality as just another reason above and beyond the mere asthetic.

vacuums work well, instead of shaking the light and hoping for bits to fall out.

use Duct Tape and attach a straw to the end of a shop vac hose, and suck all the little pieces of debris out.

Excellent! Some people report difficulty when the bulb holder does not make electrical contact. I wil be interested to see if yours works and if so, how you achieved success when others have had difficulty. Knew you could do it!

Quick Update

Ok - US Celis tested and all is working(except for the rear fogs) running wires Saturday. Had a bit of a problem with the adapter as I ordered two lefts. . .no worries. . .just repinned and easy peasy with a little help from WDS.

Still need the darn switch. . . .
