It's nice to see that Powerchip has delivered an updated tune in a relatively short time. I hope all current Powerchip tune owners are satisfied with it and it doesn't turn into a sh1tshow again.

In 1999 in read the Car Article about the M5. Every place I have lived since has had that mag in the bed side table. Every year or so I would read it again. Prices in Australia started coming below $80k around two years ago - I started looking. Last year $45 - $60k. I picked up my Carbon Black thing of beauty from a good bloke in WA. Tubi Exhaust, SS headers, KW adjustables, upgrade cats eyes and widened Sat Nav - all his (mates) upgrade cost $42k and I bought it for less than that.

The only thing left is the chip. Billy and Wayne are located in the street that I have my business. My car became the crash test dummy for the chip and MAFless upgrade and is one of first ten to have it installed. I love the tech talk even if I have to ask Billy go over it again, sometimes turning the more detailed content inside out, but he can and he does and now I am left with a better understanding of what goes into development. My MAFS are disconnected. The car is bizarre. I loved the power before, the Tubis make the right noise and the engine was smooth - but now, it feels very different. The urge from the engine is huge, more than before, the note sounds broader (might be in my mind) and the thing is smooth as it has ever been. I love the fact that I don't have to hit the sports button to feel the steering, I hate it so light. Now I get in the car and it is right from the time I turn on the ignition.

When time permits, I will be chatting with Billy again - before the tune, I would check out my consumption figures, depending on the trip, length and topography, 9.8 - 10.6l/100kms. I didn't study it like a nuff nuff, but just for interest sake. After the MAFless tune, a 20km freeway set on 102kms or 60mph, 8.9l/100kms one direction and 9.0l/100kms in the other with a very slight head wind. The figure would be more over 200kms but I was impressed as I had never seen it in the eight point somethings - I have not idea how to convert that to miles/gallon but someone may.

I am lucky that I can have the chat with the guys. I am building a MKii escort currently with webbers to re-live my youth, half way tempted to get a Commodore 64 computer integrated in the dash to give Billy something to work on. Now I just have to get the suspension wound back just a tad and the thing will be perfect.
