damn it

A few weeks a when to my dealer to get some spare oil.
The parts guys said the computer said you need 10w60, but my hood said 5w30.

Anyone want to buy 3 quarts of 5w30

You can change the interval with GT1. It assumes you will use XXXX liters over so many KM and the green lights will drop off faster as you use fuel more rapidly (the computer only cares about two things; how many miles you've driven, or the number of liters you've used. Whichever you hit first will see the green lights going out).

6000km, 12000km, 35000km are the intervals IIRC

Never replied to an oil thread but got to be a first for everything. The oil is for classic cars see the bottom of this page. API Motor Oil Service Classifications
It has extra stuff in it for that problem, don't know if that is good or bad for our engines, but to be safe I have no oil opinion.
