Driver's Outside Door Handle Removal

My outside door handle has gone wonky. It acts like the hinge pin has slipped out of one side. When you pull on the handle it rotates at an angle instead of parallel to the door. I found the TIS section and think I have deciphered how to engage the retaining tab, and hopefully pull it out of the door. Does anyone have a picture of the two tools referenced, 51 3 201 and 51 3 201? 201 looks like it has a little hook on the end, and 203 looks like it might be a bent screwdriver/pry-bar maybe 4mm diameter?

Handle is out, did it after dinner last night. I don't see how this could be done through that tiny access hole in the end of the door. I ended up pulling the door panel off in order to access the retaining tab with my hooked pick and used a screw driver through the portal to engage the tab. Once that was done, the handle came out quite easily. Bad news is that the handle part you lift is completely broken. Good news is that I was able to piece it back together with epoxy and sheet metal. Hopefully it will hold long enough to get a replacement, if I can get it back in. So, a few more questions....

1. Was Carbon Black color only available on the M5? I'd like to find a used handle if possible.
2. When I took the door card off and the airbag, I did not disconnect the battery. Probably not a good idea, but I didn't consider it at the time. Is it really a concern? Do I need to disconnect the battery while messing with this thing?

While it is all apart I will see about fixing my rattling window mechanism, as well.

...yes, I did a search recently and could not find carbonblack as a color for the 540i as example (that model had an orient blue which looked similar but "bluer") so I think it is a M5 or M3 color only.

Yeah..... I think I'll take the golf clubs out of the trunk so I can get to the battery.
Man, that had to hurt.

The repair looks like it is going to be pretty strong. Have to wait for silicone holding the wind barrier in place to dry and then to put it back in.

Edit..
One more question...Does anyone know if the handle part you pull on is the same for the front and rear door on each side? So I might be able to use the handle from a driver side rear door?
