NY/LI MEET...DINAN, BBQ, JIM and RENNEN!

Had a great time seeing all of you guys there today....DrJim, Rennen, DarthVader(note how I am protecting our anonymity? lol), FamilyM5, Blue?Imola Max, RM5.....oh yeah....and YoungNYC!!!

Went to Habberstad: great dealership...really friendly people!!! very courteous, we had a really good meeting there

Steve Dinan: Enthusiastic guy....great to finally meet him. Really seemed sincere and honest....his presentation really went into detail to essentially show us how much engineering R and D go into his products....VERY IMPRESSIVE. However...I am buying from Alpina if I need any parts for my cars. For an M5...Ac Schnitzer is my ticket! But what Dinan offers is BMW dealership recognition and warranty....that goes really far in this country!!! (US dealers do not "accept" the quality of ALPINA!!!?????)

Dinan M5: nothing to see....the car wasn't on the lift as at the Boston meet. Supercharged M5 in one year.....cool........price.....not so cool. (Sean wants a refund on the cold air intake!!!!)

Tom (BMW M product manager): Wouldn't answer any of our questions regarding E60 M5. BMW better start talking!!! AUDI RS6.....MERCEDES E55.....BANGLE E60?????.....they have some explaining to do!!!! and they better start doing it soon!!!!

DrJIMM5: BBQ#1......had a good time hanging out with the family....and Jack. Cindy(BMWM5 girl#1 !!)...and Nigel (BMWM5 copilot#1 !!)...made guest appearances!

Rennen's Place: BBQ#2....and plenty of horsepower. we'll keep this under the "car cover" as it were But we had a really good time....Rennen sure keeps an interesting circle of friends!!! Mom was really great to host all of us.

No speed records here (more importantly...no tickets either!!!)......Just a group of friends "hanging out".....I am convinced NY/LI group is one of the "quality" groups around!!!! Next time....we will have to melt some tires and track the cars!!!!

thats all from me.......pics to come soon....from BLUE?IMOLA MAX soon!!!

PS...young was last seen at his Second BBQ....leaving to go to his THIRD BBQ of the day!!!! The Young "FOOD MYTH" continues......
