Lidatek Laser Echo 2 Group Buy
Hey Guys,
I am so sick of these damn Sheriffs pulling people over (including me) with these stupid laser guns.
I was thinking of getting the K40 diffuser, but I heard and read that the Lidatek Laser Echo 2 is a lot better.
Basically, the single transponder system is $349.99 and each additional transponder is an extra $99.99 for a total of $450. Unlike the K40, with 2 transponders, the guy at Lidatek told me that it basically gives total frontal coverage against laser (not just the license plate area), and since it mounts behind the grill, it is totally stealth. The unit jams laser for up to 5 seconds at a time by firing its own 900nm laser, the SAME used by the laser guns. Whereas the K40 uses an LED that operates in the 800nm range, so like the name implies, only 'diffuses' the power of the laser beam.
They say they just started shipping this week, and are fulfilling preorder requests.
However, they said with 6 units, we could get 10 percent off and with 10 units, 15 percent off. Quite frankly, I think with 10+ units, we could bargain for 20 percent off since we the members of this board are very high profile and could spread the word quickly.
What do you guys think? I figure with 20 percent off, we'd basically get a two transponder system for almost the price of the single transponder system!

I have already my name on their list - since mid-May.
I don't think that they will start to do mass-production right away. So I ordered a single unit - as the guy I placed my order agreen on it as well.
So - if we do group by - I'm in!

I maybe interested in a couple sets. Do they have a website? I think I checked into this company awhile ago, wasn't sure if it was legit. Are they based in Fla, via GB or Europe somewhere?

Sweeeet, this is great progress! Keep it coming, guys!
5 more to go, and then I will start negotiating with the owner for 20 percent off, since we are a "high profile" group of customers who could easily spread the word!

Put Me down..
Jason (Atomic 80), the company is nearby you in Mukilteo, WA.
Maybe you can have them install on your car and take some pics for the board.
While you're up there stop at Traxx the indoor Go-Kart place.

That's a GREAT idea there, Jeff.
Hamann7, let them know that I'm in their area and that I could come up to their shop. Email me details or post it on here. jgtang@mindspring.com.
I have heard of their go-kart. I haven't been there yet. Been going to Champs and Sykart.

Question...
Being so that my license was revoked for several months when
I was speeding last weekend, I am curious to know the legal
implications of having such a device in the car.
For example...if the officer with the laser gun is unable to get
a proper reading on you, will he not get suspicious and make a
search of the car? If found in the car, what is the result of that?
I am not thinking about getting one of these, I am just curious
about the legal aspect of it all. I guess it might be quite different
in the US compared to how it is in Europe (and the different
countries in Europe)?
Best regards,
Fedde
