Call me crazy but ...Car louder with Dinan download.
I had the Vanos upgrade done which wiped out my Dinan program.
Afterwards, it seemed like the car was not as rumbly but I just shrugged it off and thought it was my imagination.
Today I had the Dinan software re-programmed and to my surprise it is definitely louder and more resonant at lower rpm's.
Call me crazy but its true. I cant think of any explanation to this.
Im glad I went without it for a few days because I now realize that there is definitely a difference with the Dinan download done.
Better throttle response, smoother acceleration etc.
Did anyone else notice that the idle is slightly higher with the Dinan software? I like it a lot because it knocks less out of the hole.

don't really notice the car idling higher after the software.. but I got the dinan software together with the CAI, and the car is definitely louder afterwards..

hmm.. that's kind of strange.. my car never idles that high up unless the engine is cold.... I didn't think the Dinan software should make the car idle higher... not sure if it's normal... if it was me, I would have brought it back to the dealer and have it checked out, but since you like it the way it is now.... I dunno...

I dunno... I would be concerned about it... I don't think it's very good for the engine if it idles so high up for a long period of time.... I don't see why the engine would not be as strong as before if they adjust the idle back down to what it should be....
but as you said, if you like the extra jumpiness of the car launching with the extra rpms, by all means keep it that way.... but if I were you, I would call and ask Dinan if it's normal for the car to be doing this, and if it's ok, etc....
