2002 M5 drivers seat

Is it possible to have the drivers seat moved back a couple of inches to capture some more legroom?

Yes, there is a removable clip on one of the rails. With that clip removed the driverīs seat will go as far back as the passenger seat.

Is this something I can do myself or is it best to have BMW do it? Also, I didn't realize that the passenger seat went back further than the driver's...how much room will I gain? Thanks
