OT: Lotus elise video

I don't know much about it, but it is a hoot to watch. The Elise is so light it dices with an F40 and a hopped up Porsche for a few turns, being outpowered on the straights but getting by rather convincingly under braking and in the turns. Very fun to watch (and listen to.)

One of our M5 guys here in Houston (James A) on the board I think? has one on order and last time we got together, he said it was being assembled and almost ready for shipment to Houston.

Those are really cool little cars!!

Another great video of a Lotus Elise is one of chasing a Corvette on the Nurburgring. It is at http://www.motorcycle-dk.com/en/mult....php?viewCat=2.
The Lotus keeps up with the Vette until the long straight. It has great sound, shows the gear shifts and tach and I counted the guy shifting over 100 times during the lap. There are other great car and motorcycle Nurburgring videos as well (including a Ferrari F360 F1 that hits 170 in the long straight).

I do have an Elise reserved at Star Motors here in Houston, I am #3 on the list but they are not due in the USA until mid to late 2003. In the mean time I have a Caterhan 7 on order and the build date is tomorrow! The Caterham 7 is the car at the end of the video that is red. The 7 will be shipped in the next two weeks to the USA in four boxes and I have to assemble it, sounds like fun.
I'm really looking forward to both cars as the 7 weighs 1300 pounds and the Elise 1600 pounds, it doesn't take a lot of horse power to move these around very quickly.
