In which case, I apologise, I thought the emphasis was on repositioning the sport button, and just shared my what my method of achieving that might be. Didn't I read on here that suede is another option for wheel covering that doesn't bobble, or rub off after time?

Yes, thats what i heard about the suede also...i have a steering wheel right now that i purchased that i could get rewrapped...that would cost about 200$, but the top n bottom trim pieces are somewhat worn...so my total investment would be around 500-550$...I think a better solution would be to sell that wheel and purchase a new one.

If you're familiar with ultra thin circuit boards, you might have a chance. You'll have to somehow rewire the center switch module to the steering wheel.

I really, really want an M button on the steering wheel.
Combine sport on and DSC off - perfect!

And while the technophiles are at it, maybe a full-throttle air-con off too...

Every car I know of turns off the A/C compressor at WOT, I see no reason why our M5 wouldn't?

Two different DSC systems, I dont think the button would work w/o running some wiring from the sport button harness to the slip ring.

Not sure why you would want to lose all the features of your wheel now.

I considered a mod like this. Except I was going to buy just the button - the like circled M or whatever, and replace it with the corresponding spot in my wheel. I believe they are the same size - IIRC it would replace the steering wheel phone function which I never use. Since the phone button wiring was already intact I would only have to change the physical button, snip whatever wires the phone function it goes to now, and tap into the sport button. You might need to remove the sport button altogether to make this work, depending how the button is setup.

edit: I see now it would replace a cruise control button, so I would just screen print my own button and replace the phone features

Hmm, my question is, that WHY Sport button should be relocated?

I did get my Powermapping + AlphaN from Evolve, and then I did get Sport button "memory". Much easier
