hadness
P.S. Hardness 6 doesn't mean you can not break it. Even the hardness 10 diamond, if you have 1 micron thick layer, you can break it with pressure.

1. You are wrong, if it is thin enough, even glass has flexibility such as Optical fiber. Optical fiber doesn't crack that easy.

Optical fiber doesn't have that hardness, either. If you're thinking of window glass, well, glass that thin would quite readily crack if you tried to flex it.

I understand how this answers point three (how to get it off), but how does it answer point two (how to buff it)? Do you use the remover chemical while buffing it??? If not, well, if it's harder than glass, then ordinary buffing techniques would be completely ineffective - you'd need serious abrasives.
And what's in this remover chemical, anyway? How do you know it won't damage paint?

I'm sure it looks very nice, but that's all anyone can tell from coming to see it, and I never questioned that part. You can't verify these hardness or temperature claims just by looking at the finish, though.

I spoke will Larry Reynolds at Carcarespecialties, I inquired about the product, he said that it contains a heavy amount of polymers and silicone oil, which cause delayed hazing on the paint, it will look good until you wash it.........polymers and german paint don't mix......
GOOD LUCK....

wrong
You are talking about wrong product.... That Larry doesn't know about this product.............. He is talking about resinous polymer coating, that have been existing for a while. This is not resinous one. Glass fiber one.
And the reason why I can answer all of these questions is....... that the person works for the company that invented this technology is here in CA for business.......
Good luck...

I tried running a search for Crystal Guard on the web and found nothing. Is there a web-site for the product?

Glass FIBER? Uh, I don't think so. There's just no way a product containing glass fibers would be 1) transparent 2) spreadable as a thin film and 3) safe for paint.

Now it's my turn to step on the skeptical bandwagon. I still haven't seen solid proof that this "magical" crystal guard actually exists. I haven't seen a website nor have I seen a picture of the actual product. I'm raising the BS flag here.
Plus, if this product is supposed to be so good then why haven't we seen much of it yet.

Thanks, atomic. I've been holding off because I've been raising the BS flag a lot recently - maybe I have a suspicious nature - but this thread is seeming more and more fishy to me too as time goes on.
Let's look at z8tako's behavior over the course of the thread. He starts out asking if there are any good "coatings" in the US, and leads the conversation toward the specific qualities of this Japanese product. LESS THAN ONE DAY later he's got the product ordered from Japan. That's not very much effort into finding a comparable product, but it makes perfect sense if he didn't really want to find one. And now if any objections are raised toward the Japanese product's claims, he flatly dismisses them as "wrong." What explanations there are, are pretty odd, too - Product too tough to buff? Use the remover chemical! Polymers? No, glass fibers! And now we find out the company has a rep here in the US, whom z8tako apparently knows personally.
Guys, I think this has been a clever sales pitch all along. z8tako, I ask you directly: what business or financial interest do you have in this product?

unfortunately
Unfortunately, I haven't had anything in this biz. He was coming visitin my frined who used to have biz with him in different industry and wanted to try this on his own car and I took some out of him
But I wanna do something with this though. I have been in entertainment and IT industry but I haven't been in car industry YET. It could be good biz. Thanks for good advice If someone wanna do biz with this, I would invest for it.
The reason why no one knew it here is simple. No one hasn't imported it yet.... I even thought about using clear armor or perma plate since the rock chips on my Z8 was getting terrible. Actually, I even did it, but pealed clear armor 3 days after I had this. I wasted 1,300 bucks..........
You say one day,,,, but if you read the tread, I had been waiting for this for two weeks!!! and have been asking people about clear armor, etc for a month. I ordered some 3 weeks ago then took 2 weeks so far to have it on my car.......... and did it myself and it took 4 full days.... I have sore all around my body.
Anyway, I appreciate your imagination but this was the first time i used it...... If I knew this for longer time, I would have been happier and didn't need buff my Z8 for full 3 days. Now I really think it's cool to do biz with this product here.
I just don't want to think I f@@ked up my Z8 with full 3 days work even by taking 3 days off, you know......... So I keep reporting how it goes. If this car looks worse in a month, I was wrong and ..............................
