I am in trouble! Please help!
Wow! I am really impressed! This is my second day with the Beast. I am following the break-in rules, but even under 5500 RPM this car is amazing! I had a 740I Sport for two years before the Beast and I also have E36 M3 - both fast cars, but this one is something else, it is the hole different class. I don't understand how are you driving this things? I have to restrain the Beast all the time - it is very difficult to keap it under 60MPH. With all my previus cars I only had to restrain myself, now I have the company - Beast!!! I am in trouble! I have to move to Europe - where speed laws are not as crazy. Is it just me???

Gene,
Get used to that feeling! The Beast will constantly try to give
you more than you try to get out of it! It wants to run...fast and
hard!
Best regards,
Fedde

You aren't the only one with this problem. I think it actually affects all of us!
You'll just have to repeat after yourself, "I will not speed, I will not speed" over and over. Maybe that will help?

You dont need to keep it under 60. You can safely go up to 100 mph and 4500 rpm in the breakin period. The car is capable of speeds torque far beyond that. This incidentally is on BMW's advice. 60 is for your driveway.

I'm going to pretend that I didn't see that! We're not supposed to be endorsing speeding!

What do you mean - Safely go up to 100MPH BigGooch? Are you going to pay for my speeding tickets, traffic lawers, car insurance?

Gene, glad you are enjoying your new beast!
The main problem with the car is like you said..speed..you just pile it on so quickly and with such ease..
arrgh what a great car
all the best

My cousin who has a 530d said "the M5 just wants to come out and play all the time"! We crossed the bridge opposite the Houses of Parliament in central London, got up to 90mph and all the change in his pockets ended up all over the back seat!!
