M5 Replica Wheels

I've seen a couple aftermarket distributors selling E39 M5 replica rims. Does anyone know how these differ from the factory wheels? Is the finish the same? Weight?

I was wondering the same thing. I know they are made by an Italian company.

I know Bekkers sells replica E39 M5 wheels. However, I'm not exactly sure how much they cost.

There are a number of places that do sell them though.

Bekkers are OEM not replicas and they are not cheap.

They come with BMW labels and part numbers.

CM5GO is correct - Bekkers sells OEM wheels. They may sell replicas as well, but I have not noticed this in their catalog or on their web site. Bavarian Motors in NH used to (and may still) sell replica wheels. This is old information, but I believe these wheels only are available in 8.5 inch rim width. I also saw an ad for 17inch diameter x 8.5 width somewhere (that wheel looked a little out of proportion).

I was told by someone who had seen a replica wheel that the color & method of finish was easily distinguishable from the OEM wheel. I don't know anything about the quality or weight, but personally I would stick with the OEM wheel if that is the style desired or go with a top name aftermarket wheel. There are a lot of heavy, soft wheels out there.

Regards, Dick Roberts

You can go on e-bay under 'motors' and then 'parts' and find many many auctions going on for the 8.5" replica wheels.
