        GPS @#$ Accept Message?

        Hey Gang,

I have a '02 M5. The GPS system asks me every time I start the car to accept a page of safety info. Any way to permanently acknowledge this message? I have the main screen split with computer and GPS info, and like it that way. However, I don't want to be subjected to this message EVERY TIME I start the car.

Checked out the tips and tricks section... didn't see anything that addressed this question.

        Thanks,
        Troy

Everyone would like to get rid of that "Accept" screen.

The only way I know of is to get the UK version of the software. The difference is the distance is in yards, not feet. Do a search for NAV software.

I wonder if the miles per gallon is measured in Imperial gallons?

I have a 00 MY M5 and NEVER had the accept screen from day 1. Since I rarely use the NAV to begin with, I've never upgraded my software. I guess between the real leather dash and the 'no-accept' NAV, I'm finding more reasons to love my baby.

No Solution so far. Just learn to live with it.
I hit Sport buton, Nav accept, three clicks to the left to display the map and off I go, takes all of 3 secodns as I start off.

I posted this on another thread, but 2 people on X5 board have successfully removed the Accept screen by upgrading from 18.2 to 19, downgrading back to 18.2, then upgrading to 19 again. I have already upgraded. next week I will downgrade to 18.2 and then upgrade again and post my results as well. The only "adverse" effect is that distance is now displayed in yards rather than feet. I spoke map scales to my Voice module in yards, and it seemed to convert it to the next best "feet" setting, so I think it understands this voice as well.

Yeah, I'm getting a routine down w/dsp off, sport on, then hit accept. Ideally, I'd be able to have those switches set as default... seems like the 'accept' thing might have a fix. What about having sport on as the default setting? Anyone find a solution for that?
