Is Estoril Blue possible on M5 in US?

Wondering if it is possible to order Estoril Blue on an M5 in the US. Also, do they make black and Estoril Leather? The LeMans Blue leather wouldnt match the Estoril paint, or would it? What are your thoughts on this color on an M5? Is the car too big for it? Anyone have any pics of an Estoril M5? Thanks for the help guys. BTW, anyone remember me?. Used to be a daily poster here back when I had the 328, now the M3 is in and has almost 30k miles and I havent been here much. Will be back soon though.....looking to get one of the last E39 M5's made. When does production stop for the current gen M5 anyway? Thanks for the info!

Yes, I believe it is possible. You can order it through BMW Individual, as it is not a standard color. You can also pretty much spec it out with virtually any kind of wood or leather you can think of. With enough money, anything is possible!

I would venture to guess that the Individual paint job would probably cost you about an extra 5 grand or so. AND, your dealer has to be familiar with the Individual program. A lot of dealers are either too lazy or ignorant to deal with it.

Let me know if you have any problems-- I know of a really good dealer in So. Cal who has no problem doing Individual cars.

Well...
I've always loved the EstrilBlue color on the E36 M3. That said, I do feel that the E39 M5 is "too big of a car" to have the lighter Estroil Blue color. Just for comparioson, if you look at steel blue color on the E46 3 series, it looks wonderful. However the same color looks out of place on a larger car such as the E38 7 series, and the E39 5 series. This is all subjective, I am simply stating my opinion.

You can get the color you want via BMW individual, do an archive search you will find how its done. It will cost you thou, to have it your way.

Best of Luck on whatever you choose to do,

beewang

If you do a search on estoril blue you should find pictures and threads about a car in london that had that exact color. Frankly I though it was beautiful. If I remember correctly, JohnH owns the car.

Actually, one of the European members ordered an Estoril Blue M5, I think he even got the 750iL active comfort seats put in. Talk about a unique M5, that was it! I actually thought it looked pretty damn good too!

Bee, are you sure steel blue is available for the E38? To my knowledge, the only dark blue shades that I have seen are Biarritz blue, Orient Blue, Orinocco (750iL special edition color), and some other kind of bland blue that I forgot the name of.

Personally, I think my Biarritz Blue 7 series is very beautiful (and rare), and I get compliments all the time on the color-- especially because it is so unique for 740 sport to be wearing that shade of blue, unlike the masses of silver and black E38s. I wouldn't trade my color for anything!

The other color that I think is gorgeous is Aegean Blue Metallic, a deep, dark, rich blue that is a true BMW Individual color.

Can recommend Estoril Blue for the M5 and have only received positive comments since I have had it. It is option 490 in the UK and costs 940 pounds. Here are some pics:

I am fortunate to have this unique estoril blue colour on my M5 and it looks amazing!!!
The interior is black and estoril blue leather with chrome trim. Its absolutely stunning .
This is an" individual" version and I booked it with local BMW dealership at a premium of U.S$7000.In my opinion this is one of the nicest colour E39 M5 ever had.So check it out.
Best Rgds

I had a 2000 Estoril Blue M Roadster, with estoril/blank interior. It is beautiful. However, to my understanding, you can't order individual in the US. There have been several posts in this regard. If you find it possible, let us all know. I would love a techno violet M5. I have seen the individual brochure. There are some amazing leathers and woods.

I've riden in John's Estoril car and I must say it's a very nice colour. Be aware though that the colour's quite LOUD in my opinion and everyone will notice (if that's what you want).

Personally, I prefer the stealth of Carbonblack.
