Finally, a difinitive answer... Kelleners and Eisenmann are not the same exhaust!!!

I sent an email directly to eisenmann instead of dealing with their US distributer. My question and their answer are found below. It does raise questions in my mind though as to the business practices of Eisenhaus.com(eisenmann's US distributer) They blatantly lied and said they were the same exhaust, while both Kelleners and Eisenmann(in germany) confirmed they are different. After I speak to boonielander(owns an eisenmann exhaust) from this board, I will make a desicion. Thanks.

Kommentar = I do not know if you speak English, but had questions regarding your exhaust. I am interested in the race version
for my 2002 BMW M5. I have heard that you make the exhaust for Kelleners. Is the race version of your exhaust the same as the
kelleners exhaust? Do they sound and look the same? Thank you.

        LSM

        Thank you for your request.
The Kelleners exhaust is specially built for Kelleners, itØs not the same that you can buy by us. This version is a special
        race and sound version.

        best regards
        Eisenmann GmbH

Funny that you ask, I emailed them back with that very question. I'll let you know what their response is.

Re: Finally, a difinitive answer... Kelleners and Eisenmann are not the same exhaust!!!

The Eisen and Kell exhausts may share the same basic exhaust design / parts fabricated by the same company. However, Eisen and Kell could (don't know whether they do) modify the exhausts in one way or another as each sees fit, such as by removing some baffling. That could be why Eisenhaus considers its exhaust special and not to be the same as Kellener's, and why there are different answers from different people to the same question. Seems like maybe more clarity is needed as to what the term "same" means to each party and to what the term specifically is referring.

the way that I see it is if Kelleners give certain specs for Eisenmann to build an exhaust for them; afterwards, Eisenmann has the specs of the Kelleners to improve on. So any exhaust that they design after the kelleners should have an improvement one way or another... They wouldn't try to make an inferior exhaust to a company which they supply to, right?

Why would Eisenmann even care if their exhausts were not as popular as Kelleners? They are making a buck on every exhasut Kelleners sells so they mine as well save themselves the money in advertising. I bet they are very similair with only tiny differences pertaining to loudness with different US and European regulations.
