I am thinking of upgrading my suspension but don't want to sacrifice any of the ride characteristics. Has anyone installed new sway bars without shocks and springs? If so, what do you recommend and what should I expect from the installation?

I have the Dinan adjustable sway bar on my stock suspension. Do not expect a huge jump in handling because of this. I have it in the middle stiffness setting, I thnk it may have helped a tiny bit, but I cannot really feel too much of a difference.

No such thing as a free lunch - stiffer sway bars mean a stiffer ride over uneven surfaces.

Let me add to Greg's point, I think that my DSC goes on a bit easier due to the stiffer rear, but it could be my new tires. Hope I helped.

Boston - interesting you say that - the one time I dove another fellow's M5 (to see how the Dinan felt) I had the impression the DSC was coming in more too. It makes sense - sway bars do both good and bad. The good is reduction of body roll and tuning understeer/oversteer balance. The bad news is that they xfer more weight to the outside wheels. This ultimately reduces the total available cornering traction, and causes the inside wheel to slip earlier, engaging DSC.

Exactly! I could not have said it any better than you Greg. I still do not know if I like it or not, the car is supposed to feel a little better when turning-in, but it may be too twitchy for my taste.

Supersprint exhaust and SS sport resonator. I too am thinking about getting aftermarket exhaust. Does the interior of the car get resonance from you muffler setup?

If you could do it all over again which would you choose?

I have these clips here and culd you tell me if they are good examples of what i can expect?
