New England Dragway: Sat., May 18

For those interested in going to New England Dragway on Saturday, May 18, please post here. The most notable difference between Saturday mornings and Wed / Fri night "Street Nights" is that slicks, open exhausts, and NOS are permitted on Saturdays. Too bad that the 250 shots of nitrous for the CLK55 won't be installed by then. Really, though, I spoke to someone at NED and got confirmation that Saturday morning is otherwise run just like Wed / Fri nights.

The gates open at 8 am and arriving by when the gates open is a good idea. Yes, I know that means a pre-7 a.m. departure from Boston. But most of the Boston guys don't actually ever sleep, anyway. And by arriving early, you can crank out a couple of 1/4 mile runs before having any real line of cars also waiting to run (no promises).

For more details about the rules (they are basic -- the main one to keep in mind is the helmet requirement): http://www.newenglanddragway.com/tra...sat_test.shtml

Will also try to see if some CLK/AMG guys are up for joining the fun.

So, please post here if you are interested in racing and/or spectating. As replies come in, we can determine the interest level and figure out the best way to organize ourselves.

A_train,

I'd love to go, but unfortunately I'll be on Nantucket doing a little pre-figawi partying!

Maybe next time!

ALX

PS. Of those that do go, it would be cool if some video was shot then posted (hint, hint).

I may be up for it. Maybe I will even drag the 540. Hopefully there will be less people up there on Saturday morning the Wed. nights and no damn announcer, that guy was way too loud.
