OT- Which Ferrari was I following?

I was next to this beauty on West street today and rolled down my window just to listen to it. managed to stay next to it for about a half mile before he/she blasted off and dissapeared from my life. Can anyone tell which model it was from this picture. It was the only one i took as I was busy drooling the rest of the time.

Forgive me for the off topic post btw. =)

I belive that's a Ferrari 550 Maranello. Has a very distinct intake in the middle of its hood.

I guess it was the 550 then. I seem to remember the air scoop. Then again. I wasn't really in front for very much of the time. If it wasn't for the NYPD cruiser in front of us, I assume she/he would have been long gone after the light turned green. I wonder what supercar I'll spot tomorrow. I'll be bringing the camera along for sure! =) Thaks for the info guys.

Well, tfung could be right ... it could have been a new 575M ... It's hard to tell. The 575M appears to have the yellow reflector on the front of the bumper. I thought it was a US regulation thing, so it could appear on the 550 as well. But look at this picture:

http://www.maranello.cc/All.Ferraris...llo---gallery/

I think that the the 575M is too new (is it even available here yet?) and the 550 is definitely more common. And I don't quite see the little light in the corner of the headlamp assembly.

oh goodie...now i'm confused. =) I see aspect from both vehicles in the picture I took. I also don't see the little light in the headlamp, but then again, there does seem to be the words right above the side air-gills on the 575 and the picture i took. Who knows. All I know is that for a few seconds, the gf yapping away next to me about "Are you FOLLOWING that car?" was drowned out by the sweet note from the mysterious Ferrari. Good God I hope she doesn't read this BB.

It definitly was a 550 Maranello that you saw judging from the light assembly. Did it have a bassy and Boomy exhaust sound? I've heard many before and I always pray to see one on my way to work!

Without a doubt my favorite V-12 Ferrari of the moment

Definitely bassy and slightly boomy. She (and now I am pretty sure it was a she) didn't give it full throttle and open her up fully. Maybe a quarter to a third throttle. Possiby slightly more. It's kind of hard to explain, but it was almost musical. So Sweet Sounding.

That was definitely a 550 Maranello...

Are the 575M's out yet?

Gosh, a chick was driving it, huh?

Wow, I've seen women drive 360's and 355's, but never a Maranello. That's ... interesting.

I guess time to buy an F40 then, the number of truly macho cars is truly dwindling
