oh the "highly" intertaining price of carbon fibre.... looks cool, but for the money? questionable.... i personally like carbon fibre and if used on the proper peices can reduce a lot of weight... i dont know how much your shift knobs weigh but i bet its alot!!!

For anybody who declares soup cans to be works of art or suggests closing a whole department store
and keeping it as a museum, considering a car as a rolling work of art is more typical than unusual.
Conversely, I tried a 2lb (yes, that's right) shifter in a new e46 m3 - and WOW. It's actually pretty cool, although I wonder about long-term wrist damage
can't remember who made it.
incidentally, the leather shift-boot in the m5 is integrated into the shifter, is it not? At least on the aluminum (not sure about thw wood). If that's the case, wouldn't you need a new boot also?
