First of all, greetings from Finland. Been a reader for quite some time when i had my 540 and now that i finally bought my M5 decided to join the hazzle. Some icy pics from my 160K/km rolled beast. i am absolutely in love with it.
Future mods are SS x-pipe already bought and BBS CH 8.5/10x19 for summer also bought, "clutch stop", 545/550 SS and power mapping. Also an adapter for iphone/ipod either Dension or something else.

Tervetuloa tännekin!

Congrats, the car looks lovely. Oxford green is a great colour and you also seem to have a lot of options!
Code 777 is very rare, love it! Just can´t really put anything in the trunk so you don´t geet it messed up :)
Hope to see the car sometime!

Cheers,

SodeM5

Beautiful... were I to own another M5, this exact setup would be my dream. I would do the tops of the dash and door panels in Alcantara, do the lower portion in leather. Darn my leather dash :)

I love the Oxford Green. We dont have enough Oxford guys on here. I think we had one member who repainted his oxford green in fact. Thats a truly beautiful car in truly beautiful condition - treat her well

edit: And Alcantara visors?! :eek:h:
Now that I think about it, the reason we get the leather visors must be so they can put those stupid stickers on it

You guys love Oxford Green, why?I have been contemplating painting mine coz my buddies drive Silverstone and Carbon Black and my Oxford never gets as much attention as them.

Cool mate you made an introduction thread!

First time I have seen the Alcantara trunk in person when you dropped by!

What a lovely car!

Looking forward to meet some time soon up again

And just for the records:The member's car blackxs was mentioning that was oxford green was wrapped matte black, not painted.

Gorgeous, and congrats! Would love to find an oxford sometime. Doesn't seem to be many around over here.

Thanks for the kind words :)

When i first went to the dealer to check the car out i almost left it there because of the color. The reason beeing that my 540 was also Oxford Green :) but then when i started to think about the condition the car was in ( interior, exterior) and the options "she" has i thought why not. IMO oxford green is absolutely fantastic color when properly maintained (waxed etc.)
Only thing that i really am missing is the double glazing which would have been nice and the heated steering wheel, but you can only get that in the old 4 spoke wheel.

now i am just waiting for summer to come so i can roll my BBS's under and really drive the car since atm all the roads are covered with black ice so no accelerating/braking or cornering for that matter.

Nice car mate, welcome :) Am I right in thinking the Oxford Green is fairly on the M5 in the UK too. Not seen one.

I think the question @northumbria asked was NUMBER of cars by color. BMW does not release that info.

Second time I've read a Euro member mention that option. No mention of that option on my personal bible, the MRegistry site:BMW M Registry - FAQ E39 M5

Anyone know if that option came to the States, or not?

Dunno if this valid information, but quoted from other thread

Interior Trims:

Aluminum (Sport interior only), Bruyere Club Wood (Sport interior or Exclusive/Luxury interior), Burl Walnut Wood (Exclusive/Luxury interior only)

PS: I believe standard colors where the same world wide. European models could have an "individual" color which offered some quite unique ones.

I included the interior combo's for completeness (to avoid the next question) but it is a little hard to follow. In short, US models had a luxury interior (black or caramel) with extra leather, or a sport interior (black with colored inserts and std aluminum trim). 2000 models did offer more interior choices.

hi, according to what i have since learnt there where 257 avus blue rhd cars made.the colour was superceded by le mans blue i think. dont know if avus blue got to the states. i know i am biased but still think its a great colour.
regards to you
dunno about the rhd numbers <<< -but i am more jealous now that i know there where less than 300

avus blue did make it to the U.S.

it could probably have been ordered as individual after it was indeed superceded by lemans blue

looks like a lot of the changes to the M5 came in 03/00:

Avus Blue metallic 276 DE91, DE92, DE93 10/98 through 2/00

@reekoon -- yup I know that list by heart, don't see anything about glazed glass. That was my question.

@north -- Avus was a 2000 only color in the States, AWESOME shade of blue. In 2001 the M5 got all of the late E39 cosmetic upgrades -- AE, jeweled taillights, etc.

BMW never releases official numbers of cars by color, but they can probably be found somewhere. Where did you get the 297 number?

Just did that 545/550 short shifter today and the throws are much more nicer now. Also no need to go under the car. Took me about 30-40 minutes to do all from the drivers seat (going to gym on a regular basis came in handy when pulling the knob out) all most made me a black eye 'cos went in side the car, looked at the knob, said "yo ****er, you are comming of..." on "decent" yank and i almost found my self from the back seat haha.

Supersprint x-pipe is on the mail towards home so soon that and also back boxes after that i guess it is the power mapping but now since i always work from home on fridays ill go out to get silver visions for the front and side signals and change the oil and filters.

I wan this f'in snow to be gone so i can but my bbs on.

Good weekend to you all here @ m5board!
