A funny thing has been occuring with my mobile phone. In addition to the Factory BMW/Motorola mobile phone (whose phone no. viturally no one has except the wife), I also carry a Motorola V8160 hand-held phone which always remains powered on, and whose phone nos. I freely and liberally give out).
On my V8160, I usually call-forward my San Diego GTE (now AT&T) phone no. to my Verizon phone no. (i.e. I use both NAMS). Also, my Factory BMW/Motorola phone has a GTE/AT&T phone no.
The funny thing is that while I'm driving my M5 and someone attempts to phone either phone no. programmed into my V8160, the Factory BMW/Motorola phone is the one that invariably ends up ringing!!!! Furthermore, once outside the M5 environment, if someone tries to similarly phone either phone no. in the 8160, the party oftentimes does not get through, and instead reaches the voicemail service for my Factory BMW/Motorola phone!!!! Bear in mind, I never, ever call- forward either of the V8160 phone nos. to the Factory BMW/Motorola phone. It's as if this call-forwarding happens by itself at some point while I'm driving the M5 ,and also intermittently occurs once I leave the M5 environment.
When I say intermittent, I mean intermittent! I have pager notification for whenever a voicemail message is left for any of these of these phone nos. and therefore know right away which phone no. a caller got connectied to (i.e. whehter the caller got conencted to the intended phone no. or somehow got "diverted" to the phone no. in the M5. Within a given few minutes (while outside the M5 environment), one of the incoming calls might go to the V8160, while next incoming call might then go to the BMW/Motorola phone no.
Maybe greg, with his years of cellular phone experience, could chime in on this conundrum/riddle.
Sorry for the confusing, rambling post! Thanks for everyone's indulgence.
