I could not find a dealer in the San Diego area who had a M5 available, so I ended up buying it from South Bay BMW. However, I need a future home for my baby for services. I heard San Diego BMW was sub par, and Cunningham was not bad. Any input to the service department (good or bad) in the San Diego area would be great, and if you guys know a point of contact even better.
You mentioned previously that you come to Glendale once in a while. Pacific BMW has treated me very well. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable.
The only thing you will need is the 1,200 mi service then nothing for 15m miles.
Hope this helps.

Hey did you get the tinted windows? About Pacific BMW....I had some personal issues with those guys as well as the Benz dealer across the street, but then again it was about 10 years ago (left a bad taste).
At Cunningham BMW, speak with Terry Vestal, service advisor, and make sure that Steve Hunt, ace mechanic, does the work. Steve has own M5s and he is knowledgeable and professional, and he takes care of Paul's, Earl's, Brian's and my car.. I'll never buy a car from that dealership again, but their service department is superior than most.
A good option is Brecht BMW in Escondido, the service manager is Bill Hill, a great guy, and their top M5 mechanic is Adam.
A good option is Brecht BMW in Escondido. This is where I have all my work done in my M5. They don't care where you bought it and I have had great service and cooperation from them. I just had my S03's shipped from TireRack to them and they put them on for me during my latest service.

I have had great results working with Duane @ Harloff BMW through 10 BMWs and 20+ years. He goes out of his way to see that things are done right and on time. On those rare occassions I've had a problem with the service he has always made things right.
I have used Brecht BMW and my experience was mixed.
I now use BMW of San Diego and the experience has been great. BMW of San Diego is now owned by Penske Auto Group and the improvement in attitude and service over the previous ownership is dramatic. The service and attention to detail are outstanding. The show room and service center are brand new.
My brother has his Z8 serviced at Cunningham and is happy with the service.

Just curious why you wouldn't purchase another car from Cunningham?
