The car above is not badged as an M5, and looks pretty damn good. I don't think it belongs in this thread.

I have a feeling that people think M5 means the same as saying 5 series.
Lol'd when I read the M5 has a strong 4.4 V8, but then again, maybe the owner doesn't know any better?

Maybe I should drive over and inquire.

Edit: Read the ad again and noticed "immaculate" is misspelled......

It isn't badged as an M5 but rest assure he has made it look like an E39 M5. Nicely done though.

No this car has been posted before and IIRC it is an early M5 98. They did not come up with the mirrors or the trim until IIRC MY2000 so sometime in 99.

Look closely into the right side exhaust tips. No action, as in no carbon.

I don't think the issue should be whether it is an M5. This thread was made for fake M5's. This guy has not badged it as an M5, and it doesn't look like he's trying to pass it off as one. An M5 looks better than a standard e39 (as has been discussed in this thread a number of times) and people will always slap the bumpers on. I think the real issue is when the badge is attached to the car. In my opinion, no badge, no problem. Clean looking e39.

I'm not sure that there is another car that gets more faked badged then the e39 m5. Maybe e36 m3 and Cobras.
Some people throw AMGs around but not as common.
My contribution.
Lol at "Super Rare find"
That it is for sure.

Look at all of the Japanese compacts that say "V-tech, V-tec", etc. Many aren't even Honda / Acura vehicles. But yes, ///M5, ///M3 are quite often misrepresented.
