        parking brake handle

Hi all. I noticed that my parking brake handle (titanium look) was starting to get the dreaded "peels". I'm already on my third shift knob. Anyway it turns out they don't make the titanium version anymore - now its leather. There is a different version of the titanium look in the accessories catalog but it doesn't look like it will work. Does anyone know if there are any of the titanium versions to be found? And if not, I don't want to give up the original - I'll just buy the leather one and keep my original - so.. any advice on replacing the original - it requires lifting up the console. Thanks.

        Mustang,

I believe I read that if you get this replaced under warranty that the dealer will keep the old emergency brake handle. If you want to keep it, you'll have to buy one out of pocket.

        Good luck!

        It Works

        Mustang,

I bought the titanium brake handle accessory since I have the black handle for 2002 models. It matches the interior real good. I'll post a picture if you want.

        Rgds,

        Paul

        Brake handle

        Mustang
My handle started peeling also, so I just kept on scrapping the finish off with a dime and wala its a nice shiny finish thats looks great.
Polished it once so far with chrome cleaner , and just wipe it off with a cloth since , 6000 miles later no change still as shiny as
ever much better look than the stock finish for me anyway.
