Boston M5 meet - April 27th

Hi guys!
just sent out an email to everyone about the meet on the 27th... can one of the moderators kindly make this into a sticky?
here's the email in case you didn't get it:

So far, we've decided to try to spend a few hours down in Newport RI. Here's a quick rundown of the schedule:

10:30 Meet at Blue Hills parking lot (Time is flexible)
11:30 Depart for Newport
13:30 Arrive in Newport for lunch (location to be decided)
15:00 Scenic drive around the coast and maybe take a look at the mansions
18:00 Head back to Boston (for those who are up for it, we will go to F1 Boston afterwards)

We know that some people might not want to drive down to Newport that day, so we wanted to first meet up at the Blue Hills lower parking lot, where we had out meet last year..... Here are the instructions to get there:

from Boston go Route 93 south to exit 3
then bear right after exit.
then go straight for about 1/4-1/2 mile until T junction.
take a right.
The parking lot will be on the right.

We don't really have a set time to meet, so people can go there whenever they want and just hang out with other fellow M5 owners if they don't want to come with us on the drive down. After mingling a bit, we will start our caravan down to Newport at 11:30 sharp, and hope to get down to Newport by 13:30, so we can try to avoid the lunch rush hour.. haven't decided where to eat yet, but Chris and I are going to go this coming Tuesday to check out the different places we can eat, with a nice big parking lot. We'll try to find some places with a nice big parking lot, and also which is not too expensive... If anyone wants, they're welcome to join us for this little excursion or give us some suggestions for places to take a look at...
After lunch, we will drive around some of the more scenic routes there around the coast. We will stop at different locations to try to take some pictures of our cars and probably check out some of the nice houses and mansion there. After the drive, we will all head back to Boston... for those who are still up for it, we plan to go to F1 Boston for some go-karting....
So that's basically what the plan is for the day... Hopefully I'll have maps and instructions that day to distribute out, so people won't get lost... Also, if any of you have Motorola talkabout radios, please bring them as well... One last thing though, if it's possible, please RSVP with me, so we can get a rough estimate of how many people will be joining us for the drive down to Newport. We want to make some preliminary reservations for the restaurant we will be eating at... Any questions, please email me!
Thanks again! Hope to see you all there!
Terence

I'm in, though I might have to try to catch up en route. (Got stuff to do in the earlier morning.)

Since my M5 doesn't get here for another 6-8 weeks, I'll be "suffering" in my '00 540i/6! I may have some enthusiast friends along, too, for the ride.

Boston gang-

... p/o another post to BlackM5, and I thought I'd pu it here in the proper place. Still not looking great for me this time, however.

---
It would be a pleasure to meet you and the rest of the Boston gang as well, but I'm not sure I'll be able to attend. My weekends have been quite difficult for some time now since I'm in the middle of overseeing a home construction project in NY. Hopefully another month or so, and I'll be free!

I can tell you though that Newport is a great destination if you've never been. This is a good time of year as well... pre-summer crowd. Christies is a nice place to hang, and they have a big parking lot (w/ valets, but we all know about that!). A great place to go for photos while you're there is up by Fort Adams State Park on Ocean Drive. Also, a while back I had lunch at The Castle Hill Inn (www.castlehillinn.com), and the view from the deck is magnificent-- can't remember the food, but pricier than Christies to be sure. Please take lots of pics in case I can't break away. Oh yeah, the mansions are really cool, but it might be more enjoyable w/ a girlfriend, wife, or date, IMHO...
---

Oh yeah, careful in Newport. The local cops are revenue hungry.
