Q: ACS Roof Spoiler (Fred?) - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

I just ordered ACS Roof Spoiler and question regards to painting. What's the reasonable cost to pain that spoiler?
I'm worry about matching the paint (I have lemans blue). Should be worth of taking it to a BMW bodyshop or any bodyshop can match the Lemans Blue Metalic paint?

Any comments welcome.

You should be able to get that spoiler painted for about $100 - $150 by a reputable body shop. They should have no problem matching the Lemans blue paint. You should give them the color code too. I can't remember the color code off the top of my head but I'm sure others here know. Probably a good idea to go to a paint shop that has done Lemans blue before. Ask the dealership to refer you to one.

$200 bucks tops.

Make sure you go to a body shop that uses Sikkens paint. That is the OEM paint and they should not have a problem matching it.

I had similar concerns as you because I had to have my rocker panel repainted. I went to a local body shop, checked out their facilities, found out they used Sikkens, had them swear up and down that they would match they paint to my satisfaction,a dn finally agreed to give it a shot. They cost about a third of what BMW wanted and did a stellar job.

The spoiler should be here in 1.5 weeks. I will post pictures as soon as I get it install.

Where can I look up the color code for lemans blue?

Sang,

You are better off to have them match to your paint directly as opposed to a color code.

The paint is bound to vary or be slightly faded from the original color.

The new matching computers at the new Hight tech body shops are amazing!
