I'm a X5er but I would like to make one comment (and perhaps root out a potential liar). I was on the Mass Pike a few months ago going about 80MPH. Then I saw the unmistakable rear of a M5. I soon realized I was gonna overshoot (???). I started to slowdown thinking there might be a smokeybear up ahead. Soon I was pacing the M5 at a paltry 45MPH. The final straw was a Ford Tempo, circa early 90's with more Bondo than paint, dusted us. Dropped the X5 into sport mode and the M5 quickly became a small dot in the mirror. I am afraid I don't remember the license plate number right now. Still, all I can say is, "YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED!!!"

I prefer the left lane... even tho I know Cops look for speeders more in the left lane... oh wells... I just like it more... People tend to drive faster there, it requires less lane changes for me to pass slower cars, and I dont know why... I "think" its safer... hahaha I know its stupid but thats just the way I think.... I kinda have to worry less about ppl not seeing me and cutting me off from the left cuz its usually either just the Diamond lane or a center divider so not too much worrying in the left side... just need to watch out more for the right. AND lots of times the left lane is actually wider than other ones...

Thats the way they drive in UK and although it is their left lane which is the slow lane... They never use the middle lane unless overtaking and then go back to slow lane after the overtake was completed
I wish this was the case all the time!
We have plenty of those that prefer to sit in the middle lane regardless of what speed they are doing, and whatever the weather. In fact they not only get passed on the right (fastlane!) they also get passed on the left as well, and still don't get the message to move over.
It's as if they get a mental blockage as to the use of their indicators or the steering wheel once they get on the motorway, and suddenly only know how to keep the car in a straight line, therefore they will stay in the middle lane no matter what! so annoying (and they tend to do no more than 65 when all around are doing 75/80+)
