done this and mind sharing? I really like the idea but I'm concerned it'll be too loud to live with on a daily basis. Ideally I'd get something a bit louder and sporty like the Remus line but I can't seem to find these anywhere...if you can help me let me know! Cheers

I'm going to do mine at the weekend up in Nuneaton (Custom Chrome well recommended on PH), so once done happy to meet so you can hear it. I figure worst case I hate it (!) and I can revert to stock or aftermarket, which considering the cost of conversion is a risk I'm ok to take at this stage.

PM me next week!
cheers

Cracking, will do!

Foxy...slight problem. I'm only 20 posts in so I can't PM or email. Bah! Let me know when you might be free - very interested in seeing Custom Chrome's work in action. Thanks

I'm in Pontiac, IL about an hour away. I've had the muffler delete for a few months now.

My muffler delete experience

For anyone looking for a great deal on a delete in the San Francisco bay area, I highly recommend "Exhaust Specialist" in Burlingame. The guy that does the work there, Louie, is fantastic to work with and has decades of experience. You can pull your car right onto the lift yourself, he never even sat in my car during the entire process. I wouldn't have had a problem if he did, but I'm sure many of you prefer to never hand over your keys.

Total process took just under 2 hours and he did it all for only $180, including the cost of the tips. YMMV on the price though of course. I'm not sure what brand of tips he got but they look to be pretty high quality. As for the sound? I can't believe I waited a month since purchase to get this done! I'll just echo the bulk of responses already in this thread, it sounds great, no drone and could be the best low-cost mod for your m5.

Here are the tips he used:
