I appreciate all feedback. I'm happy how the tips look and even my 4 yr old loves the sound which makes it even better. Slammed will come next month.

Congrats on the muffler delete - But Timmay is right, that is a pretty rookie welding job

Appears the shop did not access to a manderal bender hence the multiple welds and pipes

Yes the job isn't as close in quality as everyone's but I do seriously thank you all for pointing out the flaws. Probably a learning curve for the tech who worked on my car but they do gaurantee the work. Just look at the pics as what not to do

Besides the booger beads it looks like he (the welder) didn't make a pass completely around the pipes. Might be some leakage going on there.

How does it sound from cold?

I put up a clip of mine on a cold start when it's at its noisiest:

I love the cold start noise. It is pretty deafening, but as mine is a standard motor it only takes about 30 seconds before it comes off choke and settles down. After that point it's quite acceptable - I live in a fairly dense residential area with a fair few elderly folks and some kids, and nobody has ever said anything negative about it.

At cold starts it sounds just about the same as all the others, though I'll probably shoot a video of it. The only neighbor that concerns me is the one directly accross the street from my house. He is a former firechief and tried to get me in trouble (but failed) when my inlaws house burnt down two years ago so i had them move in with my for a few weeks. He knows all the homes on our block and knew that we only had 3 bedrooms and did the math that he felt it was 'unsafe' for my inlaws to be staying at my house. So then came along a fire/house inspector right after my inlaws obtained new residense. I told him the story and he understood those circumstances. Since then my neighbor has been avoiding me but I could care less.

Hello folks,

I recently did the muffler delete and I am very happy with the results. Going into it, I did not realize that this mod would render my stereo obsolete! The exhaust sound is intoxicating and I'm looking for excuses to go buy milk. Unless you have a good sub with your computer speakers, the online videos don't do this mod justice as you don't hear all the low end goodness.

Special thanks to TimInNOVA for selling me his new Timmay tips and to Timmay himself for producing such a beautiful product. The exhaust shop said they were some of the sweetest looking tips they have seen.

I am in the Boston, MA area if anyone local is interested in doing this mod and wants to hear it first. I went to Lou's Custom Exhaust in Waltham and worked with Joe who is one of the owners. They let you hang in the shop to discuss exactly how you want the pipes and tips installed. I've been going to these guys for 15+ years for old Land Cruiser exhaust systems and they have always stood by their work.

About 2 months after the muffler delete, the powder coat on my tips is starting to "flake off". Just wanted to give a heads up to whoever bought the same tips. Please check and report back.

i did call Assured Automotive and spoke to Jeff, he was very receptive and asked me to check the exhaust tip temperature, just in case the flaking is temerature related. He asked to report back and we will move forward.

Here is a picture of driver side: (I have similar flaking on the passenger side as well, this is after just 2 months and around 500 miles of driving)
