Hi all of you !

Time to change tires. My Dunlops with 19 000 miles (30 000km)look like slicks. Almost no thread left on the side of the front tires (I almost only drive on windy roads and corner quite hard) and not much left in the middle on the rear tires.

I have just read a lot of old posts concerning tires for the Beast and I wanted to thank all of you for all the info that can be found there

. This board is very usefull with a lot of quality comments ! After reading all this I will go for the Pilot S.

BTW - anybody knows a good place close to Stockholm to kill what's left of my Dunlops

Our dunlops were quite long lived too..i was quite impressed after our michelins on our old 540i(6000miles lifespan!

I am getting new tires this week. My original Dunlop 8080E tires made it to 28,000 with tread still left on them. Amazing. After looking around I decided to go with the Pole Position S03's. It seemed to be a toss up between those and the Pilot Sports. Good luck!

My rear Dunlops only made it to about 10000 miles. The fronts are still good with about 16000 on them. I would not buy Dunlops again for this car. I wanted all the tires to match though.

Do you guys find it typical for your rear tires to wear out faster than the front? Jet Black M5 in Van's rear tires are almost completely bald especially in the center!

His front tires are just fine.

That's just more oversteer than understeer.

I just realized that Jet Black M5 in Van had his front tires replaced after he got back from his NorCal drive because of that flat he got.

Both fronts got replaced about two months ago whereas the rear left has been replaced in November at BMWSF (NorCal drive flat tire) and the rear right still needs replacement (that one is bald from the inner side to the middle of the tire).

Sounds really complicated but we'll sort it out soon. We're planing on replacing both rears and keep the left rear (almost new) as a replacement if we have a flat tire in the back.

Good idea !

Atomic 80 - Unless your right foot is very heavy the front tires will wear faster.

Adam and Harry - I'am very happy about mileage but I think it's mainly because I did a very long trip from Sweden to Rome. This kind of trips are not too hard on the tires. My week-end driving is far worse
