it finally happened...an encounter with Clk 430

        it was yesterday night
        time:approx 12am
place: LIE 495 heading east bound from manhattan

I'm driving along talking on my cell phone (hands free of course)
and my sister's dog leaning against my left arm looking out the closed window (yorkshire terrier).
I do a conservative 60mph on the freeway, when i see a silver clk. I didn't quite know if it was a 430 or a 320...however after driving up a little closer i noticed the 430 badge keep in mind i have a 540.

When i noticed this ,i just changed lanes because he was driving too slow...or was he just doing that on purpose?? Hmmmm
well soon after i slowly passed him...he guns his car and zooms past me
        I couldn't let that happen...
        so what do i do?
tell my friend i have to get off the phone to catch up to this CLK...
phone hung up...I downshifted to 3rd and gun it myself.
I was right behind him but he was really quick to weave in and out of traffic. I couldn't keep up...keep in mind i still had the dog on my arms...
so i said,"screw the dog" and threw him in the passenger seat., firmly grasped my steering wheel with both hands and I was ready to GO! I finally cleared traffic after a couple of manuevers, and then he and i came to a straight away. He was about 2 cars lengths away at that time..
I think to myself..."let's see how fast this baby really is"
i slam the gas and ZooooooOOOm! i started gaining on him feet by feet. shifted to 5th and then finally pulled away doing an excess of 140mph
after i pulled away i slowed down a bit for him to catch up,
I let him pass me, gave him 2 quick high beams to say "hello".
He then slowed down, we were side by side on the highway, we looked at each other, gave the thumbs up and parted
        It was a good run...

my best friend got killed doing 70 on his motorcycle when he got rearended by a guy doing 130 (turned out the guy in the car was racing somebody else)

sorry if i come a little hard across, but think! before you turn the highway into an arcade game.

        ALex..
first of all i understand your concern
but i do not "speed" unless there is a "clear" path on the highway. I mentioned i weaved in and out of traffic...sure who doesn't change lanes? But there were only a few cars spaced out far apart.
Like i said...we came across a straight away..the time is past 12am on a MONDAY night...do you think there were any cars around?? the answer is NO.
I know the post seems like i did something wreckless...and yes i do agree speeding is wreckless..but you must also understand this kind of speeding is only done when no cars are in site.
Anyone who has any common sense would choose not to race if the highway was packed with a lot of cars...where bodily harm can be done to others/ many.
As incredible as this might sound to you ALex, I do use judgement when choosing to speed on the highway or not.
I have avoided many confrontations when i know that the enviroment i was in didn't quite seem right.

        Young-nyc,

Don't forget to post on the road kill forum, we love this kind of stories there
Otherwise you just have to admit that it's really not so smart to race like that. That's what I tell myself each time but WTH I never said I was smart in the 1st place . As you said the most important point is to have the road clear of traffic and good visibility, then it's only your life and not others'

BTW good one with the CLK

Ok, now it's my turn to say that you're an idiot! I mean that in a nice sarcastic kind of way. You threw your dog in the back? As a dog lover I have to say that's so mean! I hope your dog landed on something soft like perhaps the back seat?

        Nice job though.

        Young,

I LOVE that monitor you have installed for the rear passengers! You do the install yourself?

Nice run by the way; at least you attempted to minimize the danger to others.
