Car won't start!

Car wouldn't start yesterday morning. Got a lift to work called the AA on way home, got home and it started!

Again today won't start, exactly same as yesterday, turns over fine and even fired up but then died. I almost felt that if I had given it some revs it would have tarted if that makes sense.

Background info: I have done 1000mile trip to Watch the Le Mans 24 hour race. I did nearly run out of fuel towards the start of the journey (fuel distance Reading --).

Then about 40 miles from home filetering onto another motorway dropped the speed from 130 to 50 ish! And she coughed and spluttered and almost felt like had gone into limp home mode, but after a few seconds all was good.

Any ideas?

Fuel pump maybe?

AA on route

Many Thanks

Steve

Ask them, your BMW dealer, to do a search on their system for who has one in stock today !

Otherwise if you can wait for it, www.bmminiparts.com which I guarantee will be cheaper for the same BMW boxed part, in the same BMW Box too

Cheers. BMW can get me one for sat if I order today. Bmminiparts can get for £224+vat with delivery of 48hrs. I have just emailed them to see if I order now it will be with me for sat. And also to confirm the cost if any of delivery!

I take it it's an easy job. And no specialist tools are needed?

Wow ! Toby doesn't dissapoint, thats a £75 saving including VAT. Knock of £10/£15 off that for delivery as a MAXIMUM ,for their quickest option and still great.

In terms of fitting the advice I would give is don't smoke

Excellent DIY on the fuel pump under the back seat.
Complete Fuel Pump DIY with pics!
The other advice I would give is to have plenty of towels handy for the spillage. It takes forever to get that fuel smell out of seats and carpets.
