Saw an ad for the new 7 Series this morning. From the narrative in the ad it sounds like the V12 will be standard. Is that possible?

I hate it when people get in it to ride with me somewhere they alwasys say "wow this is the most awesome machine I ever seen. Hey guys give our baby the BEAST A BREAK. I've owned some of the most awesome muscle cars ever made and sold them all to pay cash for this baby.
I can drive it to work. I can make sales calls in it. I can go to the store with my
wife and shop til we drop with that spacious trunk. AND ON SATURDAY WHEN I GO TO THE HARDWARE OR GARDEN STORE I CAN FLAT OUT BLOW
JUST ABOUT ANYTHING I RUN ACROSS HERE IN INDY. I CAN EVEN TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!!
TAKE IT FROM AN OLD MAN WHO HAS OWNED THEM ALL AND STILL LIKES TO GET DOWN AT A LIGHT
AT 59 YEARS OLD. THIS IS THE BEST PIECE OF EQUIPMENT I HAVE EVER OWNED. MY 40 YEAR OLD WIFE AND MY 27 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AGREE.

Would not trade my Jet Black M-5 for all of them and it only takes up one space in my garage 50,000 all maintenance 100,000 mi
bumper to bumper warranty. I wonder what car that would cover all purposes would be better than a 4 door sleeper looking 4000lb sedan that will blow thru a quarter in 13 seconds. Answer me will ya? Can I get a witness?

You know, I read the initial post and I agreed with every comment he made. I way preferred the previous cruise control with the lever (Mercedes has one like that but it also includes a speed limiter). And the floor mats do suck, they wore out almost immediately. But I do like everything else about the car so they are minor complaints.

I was only fooled for a minute until I saw the date of the 1st post.
It's interesting how first impressions today are EXACTLY the same as first impressions 2 years ago. We all go through the same stages of M5 ownership:

Luxury or Sport?
How long until delivery?
They called! It's here!
First impression, AWESOME!
I could sleep in this thing (and may have to when the wife kicks me out for talking non stop about it)
First wax & pictures
Dang cupholders!
Hope the NAV doesn't get me lost
She's past the break-in and getting better with age
The M5 DE

Then some may discover:
She was born to go to the track (but take care of the brakes)
The M Mobility System (or the lack thereof once stranded with a flat)
My first kill
My first mod
My first SES light
or the dreaded VANOS issue
or worse, the dreaded BMW customer service

Eventually for some:
Gee the tires wear fast when being tracked!
How much is a clutch replacement?

Then we take different paths:
I'll never trade the M5 for an e60!!!
or, I've gotta have a Z8
or, for some fortunate souls, Porche 996 TT or SL55.

But some keep coming back to the wonderful world of M5 ownership and the cycle repeats.

PS: I bet 90% of the posts matches one of the above.

Mosieman: Get a set of the 5 Series rubber floor mats. This will help with the carpet soiling. You can also get an M5 logo carpet trunk mat. Porsche did not put cup holders in the 911 until recently. German philosophy is that you bought the car to drive not drink. I dont think I know of a cup holder that would not spill in this car. Put the latte between your legs. Nevertheless, cup holders are shameful, an engineering afterthought poorly conceived.

Hey mozieman..

Was that your M5 parked out by Dressels and Llewelyn's 2 weekends ago?
Where are you usually on the prowl? Maybe I can come stare at your car
