JCM55555 -
I got your PM but am unable to reply with my low post count so I hope you don't mind me answering your question here. My headlights were upgraded by the previous owner to DJ Auto units with Umnitza Orion V2 (I think) angel eyes. The DJ Auto headlights come with the clear side markers instead of the orange ones found on the OEM units. I also performed a FXR projector swap myself.

Bimmerbear -
I don't remember exactly where I got the smoked side markers but pretty sure it was either ModBargains or JLevi StreetWerks.

OJWerks -
Although I don't have much for a basis of comparison, so far I have been very pleased with the ride quality of the KW V1s. I bought them for 4 reasons... 1) they come tuned from the factory (I never plan to track the car and making adjustments would be a pain in the ***, especially for the rears) 2) KW offers a sick warranty 3) KWs are known for having a ride quality which is more suited towards a daily driven car. 4) The V1s were cheaper than the V2, V3, or PSS9s.

My car is fairly supple over little bumps and dips but when big hits come along you can definitely tell that you are riding in a car with aftermarket suspension. This is not necessarily a bad thing... and besides the handling characteristics and aesthetics of the ride height are more than worth it. 2 thumbs up from me.

Regarding the FXR retrofit, I would search around this board. Here is a thread I used as a reference, mainly since it had some photos... E39 M5 -- FX-R Projector Retrofit

The retrofit takes a little bit of courage to initiate (heating/separating the headlights and such) but it fairly straight forward. If you are handy at all I would recommend doing it yourself versus paying to have it done. One last thing, if you are going through the hassle of swapping projectors for better light output I would recommend getting OEM Phillips 4300k D2S bulbs, they are pricey but are high quality and 4300k delivers superior light output. This is the setup I am running except with 55W ballasts versus the stock 35W...
FXR + 4300k D2S + 55W ballasts = as good as it gets for our cars, I highly recommend it.

More later once I get my car back...

is there no way to purchase and install just the clear corners? Is an entire headlight assembly required?

I looked into it, a full headlight assembly is required to achieve the look. OEM Hella headlights are ~$1,000 so the DJ Auto units are the way to go IMO. Good luck getting your beast just the way you want it.
