So I got my Canon EOS T2i in the mail today, finally. Had some fun with the 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens.. nothing in my condo was safe. :hihi:
As I am learning how to use the camera and how to shoot macro, I molested one of my repainted shadow chrome wheels with the camera. I was very intrigued to see how speckled the paint really was. You can clearly see the black undercoat and the shadow chrome paint splattered across it. Very interesting..
Nice pics! Sooo much detail. I take it those white specs are just reflections rather than imperfections? How do the pics compare to looking at them through a magnifying glass?
Hey, I just thought..... Tiago should take some close ups of his new wheels too. We could have a "Shadow-Chrome-Off" Europe vs USA style!
That wheel looks just like my factory new BMW wheels I purchased a few months ago.
Possibly, with that wheel setting next to one of mine, I may be able to discern some
slight, perceptible difference but certainly not from that photo.
Here's 2 pics from my brand new stock rim still in the box for reference. It's been in the box for the past several years. Haha. Appears the texture of the new wheel is less grainy or smoother than the redone one. Still very nice on the redone, though.
The pics I posted were actually taken from the 3.2 MP camera on my Blackberry mobile, which may be the reason the texture appears smoother. The close-ups I took with the mobile didn't turn out well. I don't see speckles on my new wheel, though, on a visual inspection.
I'll post more macro pics from a 5.1 MP Sony Cybershot shortly, once the battery is recharged. It's the best camera I have.
Holy magnifying glass Batman, haha. Never thought I would see our work zoomed in that close. That is an amazing perspective. For anyone wanting to see these wheels in the light of day from a normal distance, don't miss out on russap5's other thread here...

I'll bring it, if there's ever a local photoshoot. I don't think I'll ever put it on since it looks too new in comparison to my wheels that are currently on that are slowly fading on the edges. I got it second hand and for oh yeah cheap. Haha.
:biggrino you think you could just pop the heads off and take a pick of the bore and any scratches plz?
