Guys, just got some pictures from the German steering wheel place that has made my steering wheel. This is the same company that used to make our steering wheels for BMW and the ones that did Kumaran's alcantara wheel. I did regular leather top, perforated leather sides, and alcantara bottom. The top stitch is horizontal, and of course there is ///M stitching all around. I have to say I love it! hiha
Company: Leder Raeder
Website: LaderReader.eu
Cost: 100-140 Euros depending on what you want
Shipping: 35 Euros to the states
Transaction: You pay 100 Euro deposit, they ship you new wheel, you ship back your old wheel and get deposit back
They shipped it DHL today, tracking info isn't up yet for ETA.
p.s. The people, or person, that I have been emailing throughout the entire transaction is wonderful. Typed decent English and was extremely helpful. Fulfilled my every request and the price can't be beat!

Great deal. Netting out the deposit it will have cost me $223 + shipping back. Cheaper than a brand new OEM wheel made by the same people and custom made to order.
I have a little idea if I do mine. You know how Ferrari and Lambo have a small strip at the top of the steering wheel to show the center? I'll do mine in the M colors.
Regardless, beautiful work, and can't wait to see pictures installed
I'm in the process of arranging things to send my 2001 steering wheel to them to apply smooth leather (instead of grainy) with the M stiching. Will let you know how that goes
I was wondering the same thing, I would think because of the tight working room it is by hand. It also is not uniform all the way around so that makes me think it wasn't a machine.
As an update, the wheel is on and looks great! Only problem is that, even when lining up the marks, it is still crooked by one notch. So I'll have to fix it when I get a chance, going up to NYC tomorrow for the week so will not have a chance til next week. I go back and forth between which part I love the most, the alcantara, the perforated leather, the horizontal stitch, it is just an amazing piece of work. It should be since it's the main piece of equipment interacted with 100% of the time while driving.
I sent the Geramn guy a message via ebay two weeks ago (see earlier post), then a couple of days leater I re-sent him the message via email. I'm still waiting for a reply!!!
I've also been in touch with royalsteeringwheelsjacek which is the UK guy on ebay. He didn't reply quickly, but at least he has replied. It looks likely I'll send my wheel to him.
Any ideas why our German friend did not reply?
I'll post up some pictures when I get it back (which could be 'up to' two weeks!).
Dallas steering wheels (Not sure exact company name, if you need it, I can find it, they have been discussed at length on this forum though) responded to me within the day with plenty of information. If you are having trouble reaching that source, consider looking for the Dallas company. May be more to ship international but for peace of mind that its going to be done well by someone who responds promptly, it may be worth it.
Hello Russap. I've tried to contact these guys but have gotten nothing back. I'm dying to refresh my steering wheel and yours looks incredible. Can I PM you for some additional info??
