BMW tuners not as good as MB tuners.

MB has Brabus which really seems to put out a kick *** product and Lorinser, these companies seem to put out a far superior product than any BMW tuner, (especially when it come to engine work) why?

Because high revvign cars are much more harder to tune than forced induction cars. Also Mercedes are using big volume cars with not as highly tunedas BMW.

Example:

E55: 5,5 liter, 355 HP

M5: 5 liter, 400 HP.

Notice Brabusoffering for the E55:

E 420, E 50

BRABUS 5.0 for E 420 347 hp / 255 kW, 480 Nm, 267 km/h
BRABUS 6.0 for E 420 425 hp / 312,8 kW, 618 Nm, 282 km/h
BRABUS 6.0 for E 50 440 hp / 323,8 kW, 634 Nm, 285 km/h
BRABUS 6.5 for E 420 450 hp / 331,2 kW, 662 Nm, 286 km/h
BRABUS 6.5 for E 50 450 hp / 331,2 kW, 662 Nm, 286 km/h

E 430, E 55

BRABUS B10 tuning-kit for E 430, 27 hp / 20 kW extra power
BRABUS 5.8 for E 430 and E 55, 400 hp / 294 kW, 579 Nm, 280 km/h
BRABUS 6.1 for E 430 and E 55, 426 hp / 313 kW, 621 Nm, 285 km/h

Interstingly you can have more power from a E50 (the 5 liter ersion before the E55) 450 HPthan a E55 426 HP.

But Brabus is also the worlds largest manufacture independent tuner so it has some good resources.

I would say Nowack is doing a good jo IF they get that much horespower. Eagarly awaiting Apples and Accelerators expeience with them!

Bottom line: BMW engines are already so highly tuned it's difficult getting any more HP from them for a fair amount of R & D.

For the non-M models there are more alternatives.l

Your point makes allot of sense, maybe Nowack could be the Brabus for BMW one day.

Gustav,
Do you think Brabus gets more cooperation from MB for research and development? Doesn't seem like Nowack has to good of a relationship with BMW.

No, no cooperation at all. Mercedes likes AMG (actually owns it).

But the rumour says the majority of the board at Mercedes drive Brabus Mercedes

now there's an interesting idea. But BMW will probably just change everything that Nowack is. Sure, a better company might be made considering the problems that some of our members with N500's are having, but I don't see how it can be Nowack anymore. I must agree though, that BMW's engineers, coupled with those of Nowack's, can come up with some pretty mean cars.

Maybe BMW could just buy them, keep it quite, fund them and give them access to BMW r&d. Just imagine what kind of cars would roll out.

Nowack also tunes Benz so that would be interesting, another
point could be because MB Tuners tend to be Ex AMG or Benz
engineers. Renntech for example is headed by AMG's ex head of
engine development.

Then again I somewhat disagree I actually think it's way easier
to tune a BMW then an MB, you guys have Dinan WARRANTY
AND Aftermarket !!! Thats something no MB owner can have !!!
In addition the number of companies and choices are just
absolutely amazing !!!!

MB has AMG and BMW has M --- after that Brabus hardly tunes
any AMG Cars Renntech tunes them but life of your engine after
that is highly questionable ..... on M you have Dinan and Schnitzer
etc !!! Gotta love those firms
