Passage thru firewall

I'm installing an Escort SR1 remote radar detector. Anyone have a suggestion on a wiring route from the engine compartment thru the firewall into the cockpit. Looking for some guidance before I begin taking things apart looking for a way thru. Thanks

on one side of the firewall, there are a bunch of wires that go through a hole into the cockpit... you can probably bring the wires through there..... not sure which side it is though, but I think it's on the passenger side under the aircon filters...

I pulled wires long the exposed hood release cable along the driver's side fender. It first becomes visible just above the driver's side headlight and runs along the oil filter canister and then inside the microfilter towards the bottom. Remove the microfilter lid and then lift the entire filter box up and out. In the bottom of the cavity you can see a bundle of wires that pass through the firewall via a rubber sleeve/boot. Cut a small hole in the rubber and push your wire into the boot and through the firewall. Remove the kick panel above the pedals (it is held in place with quick fasteners) to gain access the your wire and pull as needed. Any excess wire can be wrapped up and left in the cavity below the mircofilter enclosure.

Thanks for the info. The recommendation is 'professional installation only'. I would rather do it myself and know it was done right as opposed to some kid who installs stereos in Civics for a living. Besides, its not that hard to do once you understand the car!
