should I paint my brake calipers RED??

I am wondering if I should paint them, or would it look to Ghetto. also if so what is the best way to do them, so they look bright and not like someone took a can of folitec paint and sprayed them in their driveway. Should I get a body shop to do it. Or should I get the idea of painting my calipers red out of my mind.

IMO painting stock calipers looks cheasy, if you want the look of a brake upgrade get a brake upgrade.

Okay.... don't take this the wrongway... How old are you??
Here's the deal, when I was in highschool some 17 years ago....I thought that was a pretty cool thing (but then again, I thought it was pretty cool to drive w/ fog lights on back then Nowaday, guys driving w/ fog lights just remind me that old joke when you see someone walks around w/ pants sleeves rolled up... DUDE!! where's the flood man!! :p). Fast forward to 2002, I see kids w/ civics and painted their calipers. I couldn't help to laugh.

Generation gap?? DEFINITELY!! (trust me...if you don't get it now... you will in another 10 years.)

Yeah... my vote, don't paint it... its stupid!! (Can I be anymore clearer?? )

But!! Its a free country, and its your car. Do what you will.

?

Never said that I was going to paint, I was pondering the thought of painting because I have noticed a 2002 cl600 in the area where I live and the younger male (college age ) painted his calipers red, and they look like factory. I do know what you are talking about in terms of the civics etc. so please calm down I am 22 and i do understand alot of things.

i say yes paint them red, but get G40 (?) calipar paint. I did it to my Jet Black M5 and like them a lot. BTW I am not a teenager, but I do have 2 teenage sons, one with an M3 and the other with a 330ci on the way. I say do what you think looks good. Who cares what other people think. It's your car and you should be able to customize it with impunity!

haha!! there you go!! Good come back!! That's what I am talking about. heheh

Look... I think you're taking the age thing the wrong turn. It is clear that the "cool" factor appeals to the younger crowd. (ever seen a 50 year old guy w/ a riced out civic w/ the "TypeR" sticker?:p ) The older crowd (inclding my self) tend to stick w/ functionality rather than the looks. My neighbor has an all decked out mustang w/ dual free flow exhaust (that makes unbearable noise ) and CAI and full body kit AND!!!! she painted her calipers. I saw those funny looking calipers in red, and said to her from distant "...Nice Brembos!!.." Wanna know what she said??...
"....what's Brembos..??"

Oh yeah!! forgot to tell you.. she has a 6 cynlider mustang, but she claims w/ her CAI and the exhaust (no headers, just mufflers)
That she blows the mustang GTs (v8) away.
I kindly said ooo-key... and knoded... and went back home... and

Do you see what I mean?? most of us "older fellas" will agree, get the real stuff... or not at all. But!! Those thise Tenzo stickers are mighty cool!!

cheers,
beewang
