What color are your M5 instrument panel lights?
My speedo/tach gives off an amber light just like the rest of the instruments throughout my dashboard. But I have seen two other M5's where the speedo/tach is a bit more yellow than amber. Jet Black M5 in Van and Stallion M5's cars are like this. I wonder what could possibly account for the light color differences??

on a similiar topic does anyone know if you can change out my
540 instrument cluster to that of the m5?
my speedometer only reads up to 155 and i want it to read more like 180

I have brighter yellowish lights. I thought all M5s come with different instrument lights from other 5 series (Yellow vs. amber)?

The rest of the 5 series as well as all the other non-"M" cars all have amber/red lights. Mine is more orange but some that I've seen are more towards yellow than orange! Just a weird phenomen I've noticed.

Now this is very interesting....I have NO idea why there would be so many variations in gauge light colors? At first I thought that this was a difference between 2000 and 2001 M5's but then I saw it on Jet Black M5 in Van's 2000 M5 and again on Stallion M5's 2001 M5. Any idea what's going on here?

hmm.. maybe if you change the brightness of the instrument lights, you can get it look more orangy?

Mine are BMW, regular issue red. OK, orangey Red... I'm not seeing any other colors, but then I stopped having flashbacks awhile ago.

I've never seen dash lights on a bimmer any other color than orange. I love the BMW orange.

Yep, mine are yellow-like to. Definitely different (more yellow) than our '98 540i, which has the amber cluster.
