Seattle mini meet!

Last night, Jet Black in Van had to come down to pick up his girlfriend from SeaTac airport and so we arranged to meet for dinner beforehand. We met at Ferrari of Seattle and proceeded on a spirited drive over the bridge to Bellevue. We headed to the local mall for some dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! We were faced with a nearly 2 hour wait and so we headed to the mall to browse around. I ended up buying a nice model of the Porsche Carrera GT and 360 Modena Spyder! while William managed to keep his wallet in his pocket! I didn't realize that he was only 20! He's one very lucky young man. I see why the guys from Norcal had a hoot with him, he's very mature for someone his age.

After dinner we had a small photo session in the parking garage before proceeding on yet another spirited drive through Seattle. We went over the I-90 bridge through two sets of tunnels. The purpose of going that route was so William could hear the Dinan exhaust in the way it was meant to be heard, wailing! An older Integra joined the fun but couldn't barely keep up! Finally, we parted ways just as we approached the airport. On the way back via 405, I ran into a nice 540i who wanted to play! We didn't play for very long since I was already close to home. It must have been interesting for all those in front to see TWO sets of angel eyes fast approaching from behind!

Some pictures...

Some final words, William, it was very nice to have met you! I look forward to meeting you again on March 31st! We also had a good discussion about what we should do on our Northwest M5 meet. Some food, spirited driving, pictures/videos and most importantly of all, good fun!

Hi,

Nice wright-up. Itīs funny how in the second pictures the M5īs look like toy-cars (they look small)

Thereīs a "big" difference in colour (as I see it in the picture) between the "older" xenons and the newer ones. The "older" look more green. See colour on the ground.

Thanks for sharing the story and pics

Best regards,

Mike-S.

Thanks! I did notice that...I should have put those new model cars on the ground when I took that picture! That would have been funny to see.

You're right, there is a difference in our the color of our headlights but the irony is that it looks the same in real life! I should point out that I changed my stock HID bulbs to those new stage 2 types so maybe that's why it looks so different. My foglights are the older HID bulbs though.

A nice prelude to what should be a great meet on the 31st! sounds like you guys had lots of fun!

There weren't ANY cars that wanted to play back in November ... I would love to see the March 31st group box in any E55 (or AMG for that matter) that tries to play. heh, j/k. We don't wanna be seen as a bunch of bullies, now do we?!

I think it could be because of two things...one is the Dinan exhaust and another is the racing fuel. The weird thing is that it always seems to smoke more on the left side than the right. What do you suppose that could mean?

Well, thanks for the nice comments Jason. It was nice meeting you and see your Beast. It trully is a very nicely moddified and well taken care of M5. I was all pumped for the drive back up. I can't wait until the 31st!

RARE M5: I noted that the Dinan exhaust inner pipes on each side smoked more than the outter ones.

I better ask the other folks on here about that or the friendly SA at my dealership. *sigh*

No problem, William. What did you think of the Dinan exhaust when we went through that tunnel? Could you hear it much? I bet you could when I was outrunning that Integra!
